Jay,

Looking forward to it! I'll be there in my Legacy. I think I had chatted back and forth with you a number of years ago about 5-speed DCCD's....

FYI, there's another thread in MWSOC. Volunteers are always needed. Please sign up online if you plan to work. Salem is probably full for motel rooms, but 100aw.org has plenty of options for rooms.
51 entries so far.

I think we'll have 8+ people coming from the KC local forum to help out. I tried to get some people from the Nebraska forum to sign up but I don't know if they did.

Ok spectator guide is up, I would like to see some crazy jumps and high speed, not just turns. Any ideas where to see them? Even off spectator area, not that I would do that.

Also where does anyone go to eat and hangout in Salem or Steelville or whatever town?

See you all there!

I'm with ya here.
This is my first year so does anyone have suggestions for the best spectator spot? Myself and my buddy are staying up in Rolla, I know there is a pub nearby if anyone is interested after the races.

There are some nice jumps, but nothing you or anyone else will see unless you are competing or official media, ie private property or no side roads leading there.

Cars at speed, we can do, though. Spectator A on Friday is pretty fast. We've had people leave bloody from that spot from rocks that the top cars kicked up. Some people find that exciting, other hide from it.
There's a new spot this year, called Spectator E on Sat. where cars will be pretty close to top speed. Spectator D, both days, is a tight hairpin with lots of holes and ditches around so somebody always gets that wrong and gets stuck, etc. Spec. F is a fast downhill or uphill depend on which stage.

Salem area hangouts include the Horseshoe Grill just north of Salem on hwy 19. Good bar food and cheap drinks. Of course there's the Roadhouse just west of Salem on hwy 32. Pizza Inn is always popular on Friday night since it's right by the hotel. Steelville has a new bbq place called Hicks BBQ which is really good. In Potosi, I like Boo's Market - great sandwiches and other stuff.
Hope this helps.

scoobyRx, thanks for the info! I really appreciate it.

I guess there is no access to stage 9 this year?

No spectator area there since we are starting the stage at what was the spec. area last year. Did this so we can use the stage twice and get more miles on our best road.

IIRC the store in Cherryville makes a pretty good hamburger and the women who work there are very nice.

Pack your woolies, gentlemen! It's going to be fun at 100 AW, but it looks like Winter is Coming on Thursday. If we get the ice they are predicting, the roads are going to be challenging and beautiful.

Now where did I put my mukluks....

Yeah, the actual race days (Friday and Saturday) look to be in the 30's and sunny. Should be a lot of fun!
