Good to see this thread is still alive and well. Did anyone see that black two door gc8 sti over at US Auto by gate one? Very nice. I was going to buy it after i sold my skyrine but its gone after only like three days on the lot! Maybe next time.

Upgarage, you'll have to find a Upgarage shop next where you live and go to them and show them what you want. You might have to pay for shipping.

Why you sold the GTR?

Don't buy a gc8... The GDB STI are much better!

Haven't sold it yet but probably will. PITA to drive in traffic and uses too much gas and hi-oc is costing me over a hundred bucks a tank. Its fast but i never get to drive fast anymore. I think a stock sti would be more fun at this point although i will miss the power sometimes.

Where are you deployed too? Thats probably why i have not seen your car running around. I will probably have the shifter kart out at the next rcca even this weekend. Way too much fun in that thing!

So bought some used hks hiper-d coilovers last week and installed them on Saturday. Have to say that now my car feels like I'm on the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland. The wife refuses to ride in the car anymore.

Nice, my wife doesn't like my car.

But I have owned stocks for many years! Coilovers on a gc8 feels great... Go to garage Neo to get an alignment. It will feel even better

Yeah, I use off base gas all the time! I'm at Bagram but will be back soon.

Shifter kart... I won't run at RCCA unless Steve leaves RCCA!

Yeah but I just want it to see how it is on a sube at least the rear I have a chance to get an extra trans and rear diff so if I don't like it I could change it back it what do u think I would have a lot of trackson and all when I step on the gas I'm planing on putting down a lot of power in the next year

I have to figure out why my front right is lower than the left. I also need the tool to wind them up/down

You will have traction going straight but taking a 90 degree turn any direction will be horrible. Like trying to park at the BX on Kadena, you will have a hard time trying to park it. Taking a 90 at main entrances to like McDonalds or something like that will not be fun. But at the tracks you will have fun. With welded diffs you will break stuff on your car...

I have driven a friends wrx with all 3 aftermarket LSD installed(1 way front, center lock LSD, 2 way rear) and trying to park it sucks.. He ended up blowning the tranny up months later.

RB2B shimmed his rear diff to a point where it locks 100% of the time in his type R STI and that thing was fun to drive at the bullring. But, he ended up taking the shims back out because he was had a hard time driving it.

Having a locked/welded diff is like having a 2 year old: its annoying most of the time, but if anyone tries to take it, you will hurt them. Trust me, you'll be happier with a quality aftermarket diff, like Cusco or Kaaz.

So u wouldn't recommend having locked diffs and how are aftermarket diffs still give me good traction how much do they go for cause I would like to be able to have a good jump on someone that I race and pull hard

Go for LSD... I have a cusco 2way rear LSD. You would pay $1000 for one. Out of everything I have done to my car. The rear LSD is by far my favorite and best mod. I have so much fun with it.

What's the difference between one-way and two-way LSD because up garage has a front one-way LSD that they say is stock but it has 4 welds on it what's the difference

Upgarage doesn't know what they have.. The diff they have is a STI viscis diff. Not really an LSD. They have a clutch pressure plate that is for a gc8, I looked at it and was like "no" this is for a STI 6spd clutch.

So the front diff at up garage is no good for a gc8 or well it improve my car if u know anyone with an LSD front and rear for a gc8 let me know

I don't know if you want a front.. The rally guys like them at Misawa...

If you look at drag racing a 5 spd impreza... You looking at buying another 5 spd.. You will break the 5 spd. My red car had a dog mission 5 spd.. After two years, I broke it. I had a 93 wrx wagon.. one year later after a summer of drag racing. i broke that.. Get a 6 spd.. So much better! I bought my 6 spd in 2005.. I still have that 6 spd today.

Yeah, I can help you! But it's not going to be cheap... Everything for the swap is cheaper here than the states. But you possibly looking at close to 2K.

We might get lucky and find it cheaper than that... But we will see. I already found lots of 6 spd parts for sell.

Anyone know of the gas stations on the bases fuel up with 93? I've heard from three people that they do, and a handful of others that say they dont... I haven't looked at the pumps here, but a guy over at Yokosuka said the pumps are marked 93... One of the guys on another forum says he gets a knock from base fuel, so my best guess would be they don't, but I'm not sure.
