ap question for a newbie

i just bought a accessport and now im looking at the boost levels and i wondering how much but should i be running for a stage1 93 + sf? i have peaked 19.1 psi i figured thats a lil to high so if i want it down futher i would have to download the low waste gate map off cobb correct?

Yeah, you are running a little too high. The target for 93 + SF should be 17.5 +/- 1.5 psi. Do yourself a favor and go to Cobb's site and download the map notes. It will tell you what the target boost range is, as well as some other useful information. Try the LWG next and there is also a Severe LWG as well. I've been told that if you are at the top end of the range in third gear, you will possibly overboost in 4th and 5th. Happy tuning!

Hi Cory,

Based on your screen name, I'm assuming this is a 13' WRX? If so, the peak boost target for the stage 1+SF 93 map is 17.5 psi, so you are overboosting a bit. What you'll want to do is download the low wastegate (LWG) map from the maps section at cobbtuning.com. Use the Accessport Manager software to transfer it from your computer to the Accessport and then reflash the map to the car via the "Tune" -> "Change Maps" function. This should bring boost down, but you'll want to verify via data logging (if you can do so safely). Check out our data logging video below for details:

thanks i am now running the low waste gate setting and its around 17 but it happen to peak 19 in 3rd i think but maybe this cold weather has somthing to do with this?

Yes, cold weather can increase the chances of overboost. Next step would be to run the super low wastegate (SLWG) map which you can also find in the maps section at cobbtuning.com. Make sure when you go to change the map that you reflash the map (not realtime flash it).

Okay I might try just leaving it on the lwg and trying to to hit full boost till spring to see if it is still over boosting
