i have been looking around for some door spears that are 6.5 inches and 2ohms.
i only come up with JBL. is there anything else out there? not looking for anything over 100 rms watts. less is better for my setup. im also leaning towards non seperates like 2 or 3 way, but im still open to any suggestions while doing more research. so what do you guys suggest? brand and models and why? must be $100 or less. no components. coaxial speakers only. it can be two way but mounted on the speaker.

CDT Audio has a fair share of component and coaxial speakers in 2 Ohm

Your other options are primarily Infinity.

What are your reasons for wanting 2 ohm speakers?

Yup Infinity makes good 2ohms speakers. They also make a very nice pair of 3 ways. Look up Infinity 63.9i. I'm putting it in my car soon. Just trying to figure out what kind of spacer I need for it.

To the OP- if you are trying to cut costs, the 62.9i or 62.11i are just about as good as the 63.9i and typically are cheaper. In my experience, a "3-way" speaker has been a marketing tactic more than having a true benefit in performance. |

2 Ohm gives better protection with smaller gauge wires (aka factory wiring).

Well thing is with regular 4 Ohm speakers some wires will make the coil in them heat up too fast. The 2 ohm will be able to take smaller wires without it heating up as much.

I think the stock wires in the wrx is 16-18. Which is fine unless you're pumping 1000watts around them. I forgot to mention the reason it heats up because a lot of wattage going through the small wires. I'm planning to re-use the factory wires if I upgrade my stereo system. Although I'm not going anywhere past 500watt-600watt so it shouldn't be much of a problem.

If I do it I'm using OEM HU. I was going to have a nice set up with JBL MS-A1004 amp, Kappa Perfect 6.1 front, and Kappa 63.9i rear. But I had to sell my stuff to get winter set up lol. I'll probably get them again after I get my tax refund since I can get a great discount on them. Might not go with the Perfect 6.1 this time as they have very mixed reviews about the harsh high.

thanks guys for the input.
the CDT ES-6CFX.2 2OHM version looks promising. basic. only two way, i like it simple. dont really need three or seperates. 2 OHM. what i am looking for. slim design. makes installation less of a hastle. mounting depth is 2 5/16" about 119.00. somewhere in budget. prefered to spend about 100 or less but im ok with alittle more. 130 RMS watts. prefered 100RMS or less but this is ok and workable. built in crossover. makes installing easy. mount the speaker. wire it up and call it a day. no need to run extra seperate ecrossovers or seperate tweeters. |

I can look up the exact cutout later, but CDT is also notorious for not publishing the adapters, and their technical support are...um...unenthusiastic about giving out the specs. |
