Looking at pictures of the bare manifold it does look to the be the same. Do you have an FMIC? I just hate the irritating process of putting the TMIC back on. ![]() |

So I went ahead and listened to the advice some of you gave me on this thread...
Well I found a good 05 wrx donor for the swap but its auto. Will it be plug and play for a full jdm sti swap (including the 6MT)? Thanks |

18psi by 3200 on a front mount is pretty impressive. Just ordered up a Dom 1.5XTR TS so I'm hoping to get similar spool out of it. |

I have a brand new EJ207 swap here on a 2004 WRX Wagon. All is installed, and running nicely with a 22611AF481 ECU (v7).
I need to flash the ECU to at least get off of the 96 octane map! I've started to read the RomRaider forums and frankly, it's overwhelming. I have a friend with a 2.0 Tactrix cable. 1. Is my ECU flashable with this cable (or do I need and RomRaider/EcuFlash? What I saw on romraider's site didn't match my ecu serial, so I'm confused. ![]() 2. Has anyone here run RomRaider/EcuFlash successfully on their MacBook Pro without bootcamping it or hacking the Unix version? 3. Does anyone have a map they'd be willing to share with me? I'm not looking for anything crazy... Thank you! |

1) yes
2) I have no experience with that 3) I do not, but an e-tuner should be able to nail timing down at a safe level on stock fueling if you're not looking for full tuning. Clark Turner has a lot of experience with the 207 tunes, and he may have some sort of starter / off-the shelf map that he'd offer cheaper than a full e-tune, maybe not, too... I dunno. |

The avcs Cel P1306 light ended up coming back after two days of running great. Any suggestions? I will probably swap solenoids and see if the problem follows the solenoid.

What kind of gas mileage are you guys seeing from your 207? I know that it isn't a priority when going the performance route but man mine drinks gas. |

The downpipe is the last thing I need and then I'll do the final tuning and post some VD graphs. I feel like the catted DP is final thing holding me back on the stock turbo. I don't think the stock airbox is a restriction on the stock turbo even at higher boost levels but eventually I'm going to get a different intake and see if it adds anything or not. |

Klear, even with the stock turbo my tuned 207 on a stock gear 5 speed is quite thirsty. Keeping it off boost and on cruise control at 65mph on the highway is the only way to get decent fuel economy out mine. I do a 20 mile each way commute 6 days a week, mostly highway but there's always additional running around town driving or whatever. I can't help myself, I do get on it here and there. Im burning 3/4 of a tank per week, cost between $40-$45, not too bad. You are feeding a big turbo, get throttle happy and fuel is going to burn very fast.

I'm not too surprised that the 207s aren't getting great mileage:
1) Based on Sponaugle's spreadsheet, the piston to deck clearance is quite large. This design difference would result in lower MPGs 2) The CL / OL transitions in the ROM are set for performance, not economy: listings will be for 2400 / 2800 / 3200 / 3600 / 4000 RPM cells. Both ROMs have 0 at 4000 RPM and above, which will force open loop - Throttle % switch is 33% / 25% / 23% / 13%/ 0% for JDM. USDM is 70% / 70% / 70% / 70% / 0% Much less throttle is needed to put it in open loop. Delays are also 0 on version 8 and several hundred counts on USDM. - Load based switch to OL is based on injector pulse width. This will translate to a g/REV load for a given injector. JDM is 5.5 / 4.86 / 4.32 / 3.26 / 0 (these would be equivalnet to 7.2 / 6.39 / 5.68 / 4.28 / 0 on 420cc injectors used in EJ205) USDM is 5.63 / 5.63 / 5.63 / 5.63 / 0 so this is only lower than USDM at 3200 - 4000 RPM (which is a freeway cruise RPM range on the JDM 6-speed) If you are running a JDM transmission, the car is going to be very easy to put into open loop on a highway cruise. USDM transmissions will still be easier to put into open loop than the USDM ROM, but you'll att least be at an RPM where you won't do it too easily. The version 8 open loop fuel map is overall a bit leaner though. Probably due to AVCS. it richens from 14.7 to 13s more gradually than the USDM ROM does, but goes from 13s to 11s more quickly. these differences were probably the most interesting to see when I had my first look at the version 8 ROM last week. The throttle and load transitions are much lower than the USDM setup. This is sure to cost some economy. The engine design with larger piston to deck clearance is simply not setup for economy either. |

Im currently at 25 psi on stock vf37 and i love the way this thing feels. Granted it would feel a lot better if my car didnt come in at 3855 lbs with me in it! Also klear I get anywhere from 11-20mpg on my v9 207. But I cant seem to keep my foot out of it so im closer to the 11 all the time. |

My last VD log showed 331 hp/390 tq on E85 with the VF37. It would be nice to crack 400hp, but honestly not concerned with how much power I make as long as it pulls all the way to redline, I'll be happy. I'm seeing ~16-18 mpg with E85. Typically there is some asshattery involved in each tank of gas. |

I wouldnt want to push that much torque out of a stock motor, the rods and pistons wouldnt like it, i'd expect you would be lifting the heads too.
Top end is stock, heads, cams, valves, inlet plenum etc. Bottom end is a 2.1 using Mahle 2618 pistons, manley rods and stock ej257 crank, stock block, oil pump. I converted it to RCMS 14mm/12mm Group A studs to handle the boost, using Cosworth head gaskets. EcuTek 800cc injectors, stock twin scroll headers and uppipe. It's a relatively cheap forged build really, you could stick with a 2.0 litre and save on the cost of a crank. Engine is mapped using EcuTek with the stock MAF in a larger induction kit. Engine bay is pretty stock looking. ![]() |

I use the car as my daily driver, plus compete in sprints with it in the MLR/22B Sprint series, which is a competition for Subaru's and EVO's in the UK. I won two rounds and came 2nd in 3 rounds in the S2 class for modified road/track cars. The car is a full weight JDM STi. The year was a development year to get to the turbo spec i now have, going from aprox 420BHP/440lbft to 480BHP/540lbft by the end of the year.
Bit of fun footage of it can be seen at 3:25 and 4:06 in this (you also get to see Andy Forrest's 3.3L 1000BHP classic in this one from Blyton Park 2:57 and 2:42-3:03 is me from Oulton Park rally circuit, which has the grip levels of gravel! 2:24 and 3:00 3:10 and 3:28 is from MIRA proving grounds I finished the season 2nd despite missing two rounds, the winner was also using the same turbo as mine for the last two rounds on a stock 2.0 Spec C engine in an MY03 Spec C. |

That is Andy Forrest's 3.6 litre twin turbo H6 he uses mainly on the drag strip. It has just over 1000BHP, was running about 800BHP that day. That car does 0 - 202mph in 15 seconds and 8 second 1/4 miles, it's fully road legal.
