at 11,000 miles you should have just had your 3rd oil change by mileage, but given the age, i'm hoping you've had many more.
take her in and have her checked before you go. with only 11k on the ODO you should be fine. |

Look in your owners manual, are you due, over due, or will be coming due for anything? If you answer any of those as YES, get whatever service is required done.
On a side rant, why does everyone need help driving a car on a road trip? |

just stay on top of the oil change, maybe make sure that your tires are balanced perfectly...

I drove from Vermont to Colorado down to New Orleans and then up Appalachia back to Vermont, 5,800+ miles. All I did was an oil change at the midway point, and needed to change the air filter (during and after) because 5 billion bugs had been sucked in.
Your trip is not huge, just follow regular maintenance schedule. Make sure your tire pressure is good and cruise under/near 3k rpms if you want good mpg's. Check your oil levels when you fill up (should do this anyway). |

I'll never understand it. I've been driving my legacy on multiple 1,000+ mile road trips since it's crossed 80k miles. I kick the tires and check the oil and that pretty much concludes any pre-trip checkups. Never have any problems.

I think some people may just be a bit paranoid. I know as long as I have my oil changes done I feel pretty good. I'll be doing another 3000 mile move across the country this summer and I'll get oil changed prior to and after the trip and make sure I have some extra oil in case I burn any along the way
