Default Fog light wiring

I just bought a light bar and a couple fog lights. I was wondering where the easiest place to tap into to have the new lights come on when I hit my fog light button as well as the old ones. Also how would I go about making it so my fogs can be on without the headlights being on?

there's a writeup about making the fog lights independent, perhaps you have searched and found it?

Also, if you want to tap into the fog lights, tap into the fog lights and use that connection to activate a relay.

Bump up an old thread for my first post

I have a 2011 STi sedan, and it doesn't have the factory fog lights in it.
Are the factory wires still in place for them or is it a completely different harness from Subaru?
Im looking into aftermarket fog lights as the OEM ones are overpriced and seem to be a low quality of light. So if anybody has does an aftermarket install, info would be greatly appreciated.

Your car may be pre wired for fog light. My 07 wrx tr didn't come with fogs but it was wired for them (just traded covers for fogs, switch, and relay). You could check by taking the fog covers off and check for wires/harness or pop the button out of the dash and see if there is a harness running to the blackout button.

Its looks like that's what its like. I think I just need the turn signal switch with the fog light option on it and the relay then I can just tap into those wires for power.
Have to decide if this is the way I want to wire my light in

I'm going to go with and LED bar, the only thing I don't like about this method is the high beam/fog light circuit set up from the factory
