Default 2003 WRX flash block

Hey guys, I seriously searched everywhere and cannot find how to rig one of these flash blocks up with paper clips. I found where to put the clips but not how to hook them up. I read it goes 1-2 3-4 but like I said, not sure what is what here. Can anyone help me out?

Paper clip method; just bend and insert paper clip ends into the white block.

For me, I didn't want to chance the paper clip falling out while flashing so I went with wire crimped on spade connectors. Solid fit and won't fall out. It's worth the extra 10 seconds to make and be safe.

So I don't have to stick the paper clips in according to certain wire colors? They can just be stuck in all 4 holes altogether?

See circled pic below. That's mine, 2002 bugeye.

Sorry 2002 only needs two wire connector, 2003-2005 is different. Good article here.

Oh man that sucks. Well thanks for the try for help at least

That article appears to be for an EDM 03 WRX and shows all the wrong color wires. My brother's 03 WRX has a lot of yellow wires where that pic has a lot of red wires.

This is harder finding than I thought lol.

I'm really pretty sure that is not what 03 WRX wires look like. My brother had a lot of yellow where that has a lot of red. Maybe i'll just buy the flash block. Where do I purchase one?

Take a pic, I want to see it.

I'm 99.99% sure it's going to be pins 1 and 2, 3 and 4 like you see in the link I provided and picture in the post above.

For anyone who may be googling and lead to this page.
The 03-05 wrx has a different style flash block than the 02. On the 02,the green connectors must be connected as well as that white block jumped. On the 03-05, it looks like they consolidated the separate connectors into one.

On all Subaru's,the green diagnostic connectors are required to be connected to flash.

Not needed for the newer(08+ wrx/STi) CAN bus equipped cars.

no

02, has a bigger white block that you need to jump only 2 pins

03-05, has a smaller white block with 2 sets of wires that need to be jumped

all pre-CANbus cars (02-07) need the green connectors connected to flash/read

32 bit pre-CANbus cars (04-07STi) do not have a flashblock that needs to be jumped
