Default PIONEER AVH-X4500BT 2-DIN Question

Just Bought a PIONEER AVH-X4500BT for my 05 WRX. Do I need to buy a matching wire harness?

It makes the install a heck of a lot easier- Otherwise you can look at a wiring diagram and figure out what color goes where and solder/crimp all of the connections...(I suggest the harness!)

Get in touch with David at www.ae64.com. Send him an e-mail and tell him what you're doing; he will make sure you get all of the harnesses and adapters you need.

You'll need a wire harness, dash install kit, and possibly an antenna adapter (usually comes with the harness, not usually needed). The wire harness makes is a lot easier and cleaner to install, and a lot easier if you ever want to put the stock radio back in.

Usually with the harness, i solder and shrink wrap every connection, since i can do it on a work bench as opposed to in the car, then you just have to plug it in to factory wiring.

Usually i get my harness and install kit at walmart/bestbuy, or a local audio shop, never noticed what they have subaru wise though, most of the radios ive done, they've had the harness at walmart.
