Default Just pulled my carpet, what upgrades can I do while it's out?

So had to pull the interior bc I dunked my 03 WRX into a DEEP puddle durring a storm and had water inside the rear floorboard. The stock insulation got soaked and absorbed a TON of water so I'm thinking of stripping it off of the carpet if it doesn't dry well.

Pulled it yesterday so I'm driving it with the driver seat only (more fun than it sounds actually) while carpet dries. What can I do while it's out? What are my options/best deal on aftermarket insulation?

Go to home depot or lowes and get some Quick-seal. it is ~45mil sound deadner pretty much. and regardless of what people say it does not smell. should run you about $16 for a 6"x 25ft roll.
Make sure it is the aluminum backed one also.

I think they also sell sheets of closed cell foam you can lay down, but it doesn't have an adhesive on the back.

You can add sound deadening. That's really the only "upgrade" you can do. There are several threads around showing the pro's and con's of doing it and with what material.

You might as well upgrade the turbo. It has nothing to do with the carpet, but if you have the time...

Seam welding?

Just did this on my soon-to-be track car miata and it made quite a difference in chassis rigidity.

This! I'm going to get some of those quick-seal stuff to deaden my doors when I install some speakers in them.

Put some of this stuff down there. It's the best thing ever!

Last time i went to take my boat out, I found that someone installed a screen door on the bottom of my boat. My first thought was "not again!" I sprayed 37 cans of this stuff on there, and later that day I caught a delicious bass.

You guys are ****ing hilarious, really! I did everything you suggested-actually cut out the floorboards and replaced with screen sprayed with flex seal-saved a lot on weight! I also swapped the front seats for lawn chairs and ditched the rear seats and filled the space with extra speakers!
