2010 WRX "lowering"

I want to lower my Rex but can't decide on what to do. Should I go with a good spring on my stock struts? Or should I get cheaper coilovers like the basic tien or megan racing? What's good and keep my car comfortable as a daily driver.

Lowering springs on your stock struts would be the best ride. Coilovers would handle better. Lowering springs with sways would be a good combo for both ride and handling.

If you want a reliable and comfortable but firmer ride get a good strut/spring set up. Bilstein shocks and RCE yellow/black springs are in high demand because of their quality. Koni inserts are also a great upgrade that offer adjustable damping and are more readily available, but you have to modify your stock front struts. Because of their adjustable damping, they are slightly better for a broader range of springs.
Another option is to buy preowned set ups, look in the classified under suspension to buy. But do some research and read through the suspension subforum under Technical

If you do decide to go with coilovers, I guarantee you will regret going cheap. Save your pennies and go with a quality coilover. Here's an example of quality from Turn-In Concepts.

Call turn in concepts and tell them EXACTLY what you want. Follow what they say to the T.

KONI struts/RCE BLACKS are a comfortable daily ride and ready for track use.Ive been using this setup with no complaints.There's a great thread by XLUBEN w.pics!

I still don't get why people don't just call TiC... we could tell you to go with Bilstein struts, RCE yellow springs, and a Whiteline roll center kit, but who knows if that's what you're looking for. Go call them and I promise you won't regret it.

In general, peoples opinions on coilover quality are wrong. Without experience and knowledge to back up their assessment, the advice means nothing to the OP.

If a statement is generalized, then that means it is not correct in every scenario. Meaning its pretty useless in terms of accuracy. Especially when the market is saturated cheap coilovers that handle like absolute garbage.

When attempting to provide assistance for newbies, it helps to actually include useful information.

Your post is completely worthless without knowing WHAT type of coilovers, spring rates, what type of driving you do, alignment specs, corner balanced or not....

OP do some research and understand how to properly lower your car and how the mechanics of it all work. By doing that you will answer your own question with out even having to ask.
