Yeah, there is a button on the back of the camera with a picture of a microphone on it, if the light is blue, it's recording audio. If the light is red, no audio.

Just saw this. Sorry I'm 10 months late but I made a extra lighter socket that has constant power and used the cigarette lighter adapter that came with the unit.

Here is a little rear end action I caught on tape.

What does one gain with GPS on their dashcam? I am not sure if my unit has it either, its a blackvue.

I don't see any real gains at all and if anything its more info that is needed from an accident. I wouldn't want to show I was speeding prior to an impact... I would want the impact and let the video speak for itself. Much like legal discovery, Only produce what is absolutely necessary, nothing more.

So is this left constantly recording? Even when you're not in the car? Any problems with the battery being drained?

It has a feature that places impact recordings in a separate folder when it senses an impact over a certain force.

It uses hardly any power and I haven't had any problems so far. My car never sits for more then 48hr.

The operating software does not work for mac but the video files will play on mac. The only use for the software that comes with it is to adj the settings to your liking ie. voice on/off, brightness, video quality ect.
