Here's a VERY short clip from FFR's performance and durability testing.

I'm going to try to talk Jim into bringing the 818R Prototype to VIR in March.

You've posted this a number of times, is it your forum? It has four member and about as many posts. Why would we go there instead of the real FFR forum that is very active and full of knowledgeable people? :|

So those numbers appear to be highest lateral force achieved (however briefly) on a few tracks in Europe. They are massively inflated when compared to skidpad numbers. And it's safe to say the 818 wasn't tested on any of the tracks or corners used for that list.

Given that the challenge cars can do a sustained1.5 on RA1s I suspect the 818r will see 1.8 or even better.

nice video. that thing is FLAT through the corners- almost no roll.

Is that frame rail on the 818R going to block the use of a passenger seat? I guess I had assumed the R would still be a 2-seater.

The 818R is indeed a single seat car.

So here is a bit of reference to understand how quick of a lap that is. The last part of the video when John is driving, the car did a 1:27 and some change. Compare that to the 1:36.4 of the challenge car record at the same track, and the 1:26.8 of the Sportsracer record in a Tiga 2.0 driven by none other than THE Peter Krause.

I think John emailed me just to gloat on decimating my only track record.

With the existing popularity of the long running FFCars.com and the fairly new FFR official forum, an 818 dedicated forum seems to be facing quite an uphill battle. It would probably need some very compelling features or content to gather much of a following.

Has this video been posted? It's the president of Factory Five presenting the 818 with the two cars next to him:

Disappointed is doesn't use STi parts. Or least a 6spd option. Do they know about subaru 5 spds? Hate for them to get a bad rep over using a 5 over a 6spd.

1800lbs and my cosworth set up and fullrace ts35r would scream!

Why bother with the expensive and heavy 6-speed in a light weight 2WD vehicle? It's just overkill. The 5-speed is good enough.

Hopefully, if you're assembling a kit car in your own garage, you're going to develop a bit of mechanical sympathy. Combine that with a lightweight car and 2WD and you're unlikely to see many broken 5 speeds.

Is only 70lbs... it may aid traction. If someone want to make tons of power 5-speed suck.
