Question 2004 Sti Transmission Remove

I am planning to remove the transmission out of my 2004 STi. I have a few syncros that are causing minor grinding noise when I shift 3-> 4-> 5->6. I took it to a shop (Mr Transmission) and they wanted to charge me $600 just to remove and look at it with out doing repairs. I was just wondering if the was a walkthrough on here about the safest and smartest way to pull the transmission. I have done mechanical work and am sure I could do this with a little advice.

No pics available, but a good writeup nonetheless. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1324240

Edit: found another http://www.iwsti.com/forums/how-inst...method-gd.html

FYI, Google is your friend. This took me seconds to find with a simple search...
