Default Epic fail, door speaker install.

So I wanted to upgrade my door speakers for a little more bump and bought 6.5" kicker door speakers for the front. I took off my door panel, and then took of the factory sub. I cut the plug and wired in the kicker.

This is the moment I realized that this speaker will not fit. The stock speaker has a big three screw frame that screws in, this speaker had 4 screws in which only one hole would line up. The hole is smaller than the ones in the door so I couldn't even do one without drilling the crap out of the speaker. I then tried drilling them into the door (I got pissed) and didn't even scratch the surface. Said hell with it and put the factory one back on and door back on. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! I have no clue what I did wrong or if these speakers just aren't compatible with my 2004 wrx. Feed back is appreciated as I am probably taking them back.
