Alrighty guys, so just to catch everyone up on things, I haven't hit a drift event since 2011. It's been killing me. I went back to school late 2011. School and work have taken my life over and I've been going insane, 100% of my attention has been focused on those two things for the past year or so. Until a close friend of mine told me wise words.... "Living life without a hobby is like living in a coffin. You may have spent a lot on your car but it makes you happy, feel accomplished and proud of what you created, and the feeling of success that you achieve when investing in something you love is a feeling that nothing can or will ever replace."

Then it hit me. I need to get back into it because it's what I love. My priorities will always be straight, it's just about that balance. And I will make sure to keep it all balanced. With all that said, I will be hitting as many drift events as I can starting in May this year. So I began to prep my car. And by prep, I mean tear it apart. LOL

I have a large list of the things I want to get done.
First of all, I was tired of breaking axles at almost every other event. A huge reason why I broke axles in the first place was because my car is low as hell and the axle geometry was all messed up. Instead of raising my car, I decided to go another route and raise the entire subframe itself. I'm getting custom work done at a local shop and they are going to create custom subframe mounts that will raise the subframe about 1/2" or so, on top of that, some of the upper portion of the subframe will be trimmed about 1/4th of an inch.
Here, I have it pulled out.

Here's the stock length of the bottom of the subframe to the top where it bolts onto the chassis. Although, I just realized that I didn't measure from the actual bottom of the subframe, it should do. I took this picture so I can compare it back to the subframe when I get it back.

I've been getting a lot of messages about my dual caliper bracket setup, and I haven't been able to show any pictures since I haven't really taken any, but since I took out my entire rear end, here you all go!

And the subframe is now off to CNC Autosports! Just dropped off and I can't wait to get it back! Haha

Haha. Yeah, just BC coils. Maxed out as of now. I'm getting the extreme low ones from them soon so I can go lower in the rear.

The brake handle looks so close to the steering wheel. Does that get in the way?

No, not at all. It's just the angle that the picture was taken at, so it looks super close. It's actually close to the wiper switch, not so much the steering wheel.

what rim size and offset are you running on the MB battle?

The OEM setup is complete garbarge for steering angle. I have the Perrin Super Steer kit and didn't install the rack stoppers, it's the same concept as modded knuckles and helps reduce bumpsteer. I also have 6mm inner tie rod spacers. These steering angle mods made drifting much more easy/fun/enjoyable.

I really like your car, I have been drifting miata's for a long time

Anyways, the somewhat typical I bought a house, got married, kid on the way is how my life is going right now. So im starting my part out thread to build a car that is more practical. My thoughts are a 05-07 STI converted to RWD so i can still drift but have a daily car too (mine is full blown race car).

My question is, all of the RWD spools i have seen (watanabe, ppg) are for non DCCD. Does that matter at all, can you still run the spool?

Did you adjust the collars / preload to achieve your ride height? I am nowhere close to your height and I'm maxed out on the rears...

I appreciate the nice words, dude. She really is fun to get wild with. lol
Thanks again.

Yeuhhhhhhhhhhhh, thanks bud! #stanceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeebroooooooooo

And for those wondering I found an old pic of my RWD diff before it was installed and I snapped a pic of my AWD diff that's been collecting dust in my garage.
Here's a pic of them side by side.
Which center diff is this one? Is it the type c3?

Thanks for the kind words, there are RWD spools that work with DCCD equipped vehicles. Mine is one for example. On rhdjapan's website, each spool depends on your car's options.

I did adjust my preload before, but now I'm on the BC Racing Extreme Low coilovers with Swift springs, and the preload is set to zero.
