Default Roof rack noob questions

Hey guys-

I was looking to get either a yakima or thule roof rack for my 2005 STi. I've been looking around and was wondering - could I get the bars and then any old 44" fairing? From my research this seems to be the obviously cheaper way, but would they actually fit together?

I know the Yakima bars are universal to Yakima mounts, as is the fairing. So if you can find a better price go for it, just be wary of condition. I believe the Yakima fairing even fits round and square bars.

I bought towers new; but used bars. Good way to save if that's an issue.

Well, obviously the Yakima fairing would be best. But the Inno fairing is probably your best best bet if you really didn't want to stick with the Yakima fairing. Honestly, with a little creativity you can make just about anything fit on to the round Yakima bars.
