Default NH Smog

So, I have an 02 wagon with a 2.5L swap, catless 3" exhaust, tranny swap, suspension swap blah blah blah. I'm thinking i'm going to have trouble passing smog. if anyone else in this area has had this problem and found a solution, please PM me. Currently in the military, but not much longer so i'll have to register it here in NH. Thanks.

Never had a smog test done. I don't believe NH does such, but don't quote me on that. It has to pass emissions, electronically and "visually". Aka no CEL if you're swapped I'm guessing you're tuned so as long as it has been disabled your fine or run a couple of spark plug non foulers that have been drilled out to 1/2" ID between the last 02 and the DP. Of course that will make the computer happy, but you need "pass" the visual part as well, this require knowing someone with a inspection license.

No way NH does smog, every jeep in the state has a snorkel and stacks

Not 100% sure what a "smog test" is but I live in NH and most inspections consist of safety items (tires / lights / horn / pull wheels to inspect brakes / ball joints / etc) and an OBD readiness check (no CELs). Every place I've been to does varying degrees of these. Some more, some less. I've found the key to passing inspection is to have a safe / legal car...

Your car wont pass inspection with those mods unless you know someone that will overlook the mods.

Looks to me like they just do an OBD check for emissions. You'll probably be fine.

You will want to speak to locals before bringing your car to an inspection station. Back when I worked in NH, many of the locals complained that stations hung the inspection blackmail over your head. One guy had just completed a full brake job. The inspection place said he needed new front brakes. They had 10 miles on them.

Emissions are done on all 96+ cars in NH. Any modifiacation in NH is illegal though I believe. Its going to depend where you bring it.

no front window tint and put a quiet exhaust on it. Then make sure you have no check engine lights and you should be fine at most places.

what the hell does snorkel and stacks have to do with passing emmissions? all the electronics would still be in place on the newer jeeps.

old jeeps like mine they dont even look at

edit:

i LOL every time i see a newer jeep set up like that, i cant imagine the ECM enjoys deep water all that much.
