Sounds perfect IMO. I have headers as well though. Only takes a small amount of modification to fit our cars. Thats what I would recommend you if you don't want something redonculously loud. As far as finding an exhaust you will just have to look like everyone else. Try ebay, craigslist, private for sale section on this forum, or use google to search aftermarket parts websites. Good luck to ya

I bought a '93 that had the rear end reformed by a big truck. First mod was to cut off the accordioned skin and remove the trunk cover. I've put STi struts on in the front and sometime this week, hope to put STi struts in back. Then its whatever it takes to fit my 285/30R18 Hoosiers under all four corners. the interior is coming out. Long term plans are to convert it into a roll-caged awd go-cart

My buddy bought a 1999 impreza, 2.2 for a daily. Was wondering what we can do to give it a nice rumble? Nothing crazy, don't wanna purchase a full exhaust. Have an apexi muffler handy. Cat and resonator deletes can be done if necessary. Like I said, don't need anything crazy loud, just want it to sound .. Well, like a subaru should. Thanks!

Unequal length headers and a catback will achieve the sound he wants.

Yeah that's what we were thinking too. I plan on doing unequal length headers on my stage 3 2004 wrx soon. He doesn't wanna spend that kind of money on a daily though :/ he's just doing a muffler and resonator delete as we speak, then an apexi muffler tomorrow.

It may not be enough, though I understand his position. I had a similar set up before, but it never burbled till after I installed the headers.

I see not too many people listing one of the most important mods you should do to a 5 speed. Fidanza lightened flywheel. These things make a huge difference in your car just like the lightened pulley. I have mine I can't wait to install it.

Nope. Basic hand tools and don't have a full tank when you do it.

Edit* thought you said fuel pump but hand tools should still be all you need.

Thank you man!! Got it on, bought the car for 450$ so far I'm into it 100$ and runs nicely. Any ideas on listening the gas pedal up? It is kind of sticky and old feeling.
