Hello,
I am new to owning my 02 Impreza OBS 2.5L and i was just wondering if it would be worth turbo charging because buying a wrx or Sti is not an option for me at this time.

it depends, if you cant afford a wrx or sti then can really afford the modifications and tuning required to make that happen? Not to mention the fact that it is an 02 i am sure there are some miles on it. How long would you expect it to last? Factor in a turbo system fab'd for your car and then a new motor rebuild later down the road ( and who knows how long that will be could be a day after do it or a year ) and you might as well just start off with the wrx...
my .02 edit: a better option might be researching a wrx motor swap from a 2002 and doing that. I am sure you could find a cheap drivetrain from an 02 around. |

Some cars have good aftermarket support for turbocharging, but that's not true for the N/A Subarus because there is little point when you can just buy a factory turbo model.
Unless you are doing it just to do it, I think most people would say sell the car and buy a factory turbo model. EDIT: I see you already got to that conclusion! I'm a slow typist ![]() |
