Are any of these rules available to a lowly user to peruse? Some of us may feel a little better if we knew what they were to begin with.
The only rules I could find were those associated with the Forum Rules button in the blue bar above. They are are posted in several threads for the purpose of reminding some of what they are.
Just saying it wouldn't have been such a shock to some and wouldn't have made others feel picked on if they were available.
AAAAnnnd...are they truly gone, deleted, never to be recovered? We know technology moves at a remarkable pace. Tomorrow they may find a way to store hundreds of times the info cheaper & easier than now. Then maybe we could have them back.

Thanks for helping, Chuck
The basic rules are in the Forum Rules link, yes.

Various guidelines for sub-forums are usually posted in sticky threads in those forums. Different rules apply in Regional, Classified, Newbies, General, OT, and Vendor areas.

Sounds like the guy drove it in the winter in IL which (as Joe and I know from living there) means all of the bolts on the underside of this car are likely frozen in place.

Yeah, being from Michigan, I would concur, except it warms up during the week of summer and they thaw. Work on the car then.

Just looking for a 6MT CTS-V for Joe to drive.

Hello rogue - welcome to JMS!

I appreciate the civil discussion, and detailed explanation regarding NASIOC's position. Glad we can all be friends while disagreeing with each other.

I remain disappointed that NASIOC has no interest in preserving the legacy of JMS threads. Given that no other members share my sentiment, I appear to have overestimated the value of that legacy. Mom burned the family photo album, and everyone shrugged.

I accept the current state, and am moving on. Further attempts to convince me that I'm wrong or defend NASIOC's position will probably just irritate me.

Hi Bryan, Hi Chuck -

Well, I survived my one week self-imposed NASIOC timeout. Feel much more mellow now.

To answer your questions... No, I'm not particularly interested in a Northern car. Nor am I interested in test driving the previous generation CTS-V.

I was going to drive an '09 CTS-V last Friday (in Blackstone, VA), but it sold the day before I got there. My current thinking is that the CTS-V will probably feel too big. I had an enlightening test drive of an '08 BMW M5 (with 6MT), where I just didn't care for the size of the vehicle. Loved many things about it, but the 5 series is just too big for my taste. What can I say, I like small sedans.

However, while I was in Richmond I did drive a used Audi B7 RS-4. I liked it. I really liked it. Fit me like a glove. In fact, I was going to buy the car until the "Low Oil" warning came on as I was pulling back into the dealers. (run, don't walk)

Looking back... my first new car was a '96 Jetta GLX that I owned for ~13 years. I daily drove it until I got my '02 WRX, and then various family members drove it after me until my cousin killed the tranny in 2010. The Audi B7 RS-4 feels like a grown up version of that Jetta.

So I am currently negotiating a private purchase a particularly mint '08 RS-4. PPI will occur on March 9th. I'll keep you posted.

Well my left eye was very patriotic, Red, White, & Blue...Now it's just red and blue.
Stint went in, everything looks great except the extreme irritation of the eye itself.
3 different eye drops 6, 4, & 2 times a day, it should clear up in a few days.
Off work until Tuesday.

I was told these rules are Stickies in the Subforums, couldn't find any that say that what has happened is a rule, Although Ben has put one up with a few listed. I agree with you about the, "Mom threw out the photo album" kind of feeling.
You'll have to take me for a ride. JSO had a yellow one that appeared to be pretty quick. He was running up behind people trying to get them to go faster, if you did, the uniforms were right around the corner waiting with the radar gun.
The B7 should be a cool ride, right up your alley I think.

Yes, I saw your comments. I choose not to discuss further.

JSO? Have to search for that one! Not a fan of yellow or red, I like the more conservative colors.

What kind of car did you get?...........................A blue one.

I hope this works out for you, I assume it is dependent on a successful test drive. A PepsiMax/Jeff Gordon style one.

Title, Tax and Tags was a PITA.

Total bill for was more than my debit card would allow. So I had to run to the bank and get some cash out... but because I use the local CU to access my out of state CU, they also had a limit on cash withdrawals that was LESS than the debit card.

Really?

I know the bank is trying to protect me from theft - but LET ME HAVE MY MONEY!!!

I ended up getting 1/2 cash, and paying 1/2 with debit. It took over 2 hours start to finish at FDOT/Tax office, included the 1/2 hour side-trip to the bank. So much easier when you do it all at the dealer.
