AASCLC Club Car going up for raffle

Hello folks! We are starting a raffle for the AASCLC club car.

This is a great way to get into wheel to wheel racing with a car that is already prepared to our club's rules!!!

Tickets are $20 each, ticket drawing will be April 5th. If you'd like to purchase a ticket please get in touch with Shaggie 952 1112.

Cash is preferred payment method, checks will be taken but should be made out to Mt View Lions Club (they are assisting by allowing us to use their gaming license for the raffle).

We will be donating a portion of proceeds to Wounded Warrior Ascents (www.woundedwarriorascents.org)

1st Prize: Club Car
2nd Prize: $500 cash
3rd Prize: $250 cash

About The Car
1992 Acura Integra
1.8L engine built by Underground Performance
aftermarket header, exhaust
Autopower roll cage, belts and window nets
OMP racing seats, megan coilover suspension
multiple sets of wheels and tires

This car is built to the IT class specifications of the Anchorage Alaska Sports Car Club's competition rules. It is legal for wheel to whee IT racing, autocross, studded ice racing and rally events.

This car has a clear title, but is not registered for use on public roads. It is being raffled off as a racing-only vehicle.

(edit) Year is fixed, so just one minor note:

- Alaska Gaming laws prohibit sending money or tickets through the mail, so purchases must be done in person.

And of course, tickets will be available at all of our ice races too!

What is the minimum and/or maximum number of tickets that are going to be sold?

Does the winner have to be present at the drawing to win?

Might I ask how this car came about? More specifically, why an Integra was chosen over something else? Not to say anything bad about it, I would just like to hear some history.

I think it was a cost decision, as in cheap to buy. They are relatively cheap to build and are very competitive in their class.

The car was built as a "celebrity" race car. I believe Bob or Mark from 106.5 KWHL was going to race the car at Fur Rondy.

Exactly, and reliable as a race car also. The Fur Rondy event ended up not happening, so we used the car to help promote wheel to wheel racing and other events.

Oops, we forgot to update everybody. Drawing has been postponed until April 29.

Somebody will have a new race car for Tanacross!

We haven't collected all of the tickets yet, but it's looking like fewer than 200 have been sold so far out of 1000 printed.

Chances are still very good, and we'll have tickets available at the tech inspection Friday and at the autocross Sunday.

Last chance! Somebody gets a racecar on Monday!
