Default Subaru Brat steering wheel?

I have as customer with a mint condition 1986 Subaru Brat GL and his car was broken into. He had a Club mechanism on the steering wheel and the punks cut the steering wheel to remove the Club so now he has a fairly large gap in the wheel. This part is no longer available from Subaru and I am trying to find a suitable replacement for him. I will also take suggestions on how to properly repair the wheel or shops that are capable of doing a very good repair.

Borrowed from North Ursalia. I need this steering wheel in blue.

Thanks,
Jackie

im not an expert what so ever, that being said do you have the piece that they cut off? (id imagine they would have just dropped it on the ground) if so you might want to just try reattaching it, im guessing theres a steel rod and a piece of thick vinyl that goes over it? if so maybe try welding the steel rob back on and then cutting the vinyl so you can get it back on the just glue it back together? like i said im no expert just throwing out ideas

I'll look around the PNW, we have lots of Gen 2 here in the wrecking yards.

I just found a picture on North Ursalia of the wheel I am looking for, posted above!

TurboneX - What is the PNW?

argonsoon - I did suggest for him to take it to a qualified upholstery shop but I think he is worried that it will not look the same. I do believe that the right person could have it looking the way it used to but I doubt it would be an easy or cheap way to go. I am hoping for a miracle here, I really hope that I can find a stock wheel for him.

Thanks,
Jackie

I know that Montessi/F&S Auto Parts here in CT have a bunch of old Subarus and I'm sure they have stockpiles of everything you could possibly want.

Here is their site:

Give them a call and see if they have any Gen 2 blue steering wheels. I'm sure they have something, every time I've gone to them for parts, I was not disappointed.

I'm sure they'd be willing to ship to you.

I was going through my subscriptions and I realized that I forgot to come back and thank you. The guys at F&S managed to dig up a blue steering wheel for my customer and they were super friendly an helpful! Thank you for the suggestion, my customer is back on the road and oh so happy!

Thanks,
Jackie
