I've recently gathered all the parts for the robs 550 tune which includes 04 sti yellow sidefeed injectors. Some of you will know of the Carl davey injector kit which allows the new injectors to be fitted into the old engine.
However, I've contacted Carl Davey directly and he's no longer making the kits and doesn't intend to do so any more. What do I do? Is there another way?

You can use 96-98 legacy 2.5 fuel rails they fit the sti yellow injectors and directly replace the EJ20G fuel rails. Might be even more years then that not 100% though

That is too bad about Carl. I really liked his kits.
Deatschwerks also has an adapter kit for this. http://www.deatschwerks.com/products...ter-kit-detail -Rob |

I'm going to my local u-pull it tomorrow and last time I was there they had a few DOHC legacys so I can pull you a set if you like I get them for free to $5 so it would basically just be shipping cost to you.

Sometimes it is handy to use the conversion kit. They are quite a bit easier to install than replacing rails and at some point you might want to switch back to stock injectors. Plus it isn't every day you find them for $10

I'm loving the cost factor of the old salvaged fuel rails, but how hard is it to do the conversion. I know the injector conversion is almost as simple as fitting the new injectors and doing some plug work. So far these mods are the most intense bit of work I'll have ever done on a car and I have no background experience to help.
I don't want to jump in over my head. |
