HB3200 isn't going anywhere. Even the principal sponsor of the bill is running away from it.

Any recent Kimbers get a pass in my book. I'll take a nice STI, altho they are close to double the price.

just bought a Remington 700 in the .300 RUM. Put a Nikon 5-20 x44mm scope on it and look forward to hitting the range.

Seriously contemplating re-barreling it to a .338 Edge as they use the same case.

after owning a few calibers that are not readily avalible.... not any more. if i cant get it at bi-mart or any other local store readily i am kinda over it.

that ultra mag is deff a kick in the pants to shoot for sure. if you make the jump to 338 i would highly recommend a nice muzzle break. would help now, but with the added lead of the 338 makes a differance.

Mine is made CDI precision, as they are one of the few that actually make a DBM conversion for a winchester pre-64 action that takes AI mags. I had mike Palazzo install it for me and it looks factory, you can flip the gun upside down and it still feeds perfect. (try that with your R700!)

The Diamondback is one of their entry level models, might still be made in China, BUT Vortex is one of the very few optics made in China I would actually own. I have a few of their red dots and a Viper PST on my Fifty which still holds zero despite the crap I have put it through.

They are one of the best budget optic options around as far as optic and build quality goes and their warranty is only equalled by Leupold.

I had one on my .17hmr (a savage fancy pants model) for what you pay its a good scope, the turret clicks are pretty mushy to say the least. I took it off and its been sitting in my safe since i got a killer deal on a Nikon 4-16 monarch on SWFA.com

i got a good deal on the 1.75/5 vortex unit. if i dont like it, i can live with the price point and trade up to a nicer unit.

also picked up a AimPoint Pro today for another build...
