well a friend of mine has a new set(2) of Toyo Proxes R1R for $80 off and can get me 2 more for 5% off so its a pretty good deal only thing is ive read mixed reviews.

I have hankook v12's and love them. Amazing dry traction and very good wet traction. Their fairly cheap. The R1R's are nice but the tread rating seems really low and might wear out to fast for your likings, but if you get them for a good deal then I would say go for it.

Yeah that's what I'm reading that they wear kinda quick and I'm reading mixed reviews about the wet traction and I was also looking into the v12's how do you think they would be with a few autocross events and maybe a track day along with sprinted daily driving

i have the sumitomo htr III. i got them under $400. they're about $316 on tirerack. the traction is pretty good in rain and dry weather. definitely pretty hard to break traction with my tires in the rain.

their the Z type tires so their deeper thread rated for 180+ mph :P

Yup TireRack is very helpful.
Autocross would be fine. However I took my car out on Infenion Raceway for a "parade lap"; still got upto about 65mph in areas but my tires were all gummed up after a few laps (I didn't have a chance to set my tire pressures perfectly, so I think that attributed as well). As for spirited driving, I do pretty aggressive mountain runs about every other week and the v12's have the same grip everytime. Of course it helps having my koni's on full stiff to utilize the tires the most, but you get the idea

SlowScoobie- I have it. It comes unpainted as shown, the quality is not that great though. However, after a little TLC (wet sanding and paint) it can look really good. Also to be honest, the outer portions seem to have a much thicker area in comparison to the stock one. Meaning the stock one has the curved lip on top with a flat bottom like this __\ and the one you linked has more of a curved bottom portion (if that makes sense). Ill try and post up pics of the area I am referring to.
Look at the outer portions and how they look saggy:

I bought the BFgoodrich g-force comp 2 over the v12's. Very good wet traction n the grip in dry is awesome. The road noise is very little n pretty comfortable for highway driving. Been on a few spirited canyon runs since I bought them n it felt like the grip never ran out. I used the tire rack sticky to locate n research them (best tires of 2012 thread).

I got my nice stock lip for $215, painted, free shipping, no tax a couple years ago.. If you can find a deal like that, I'd try to find a stock one, the fit is really amazingly perfect.

I'm running Continental DW (not the DWS version). Great handling in the dry and feel invincible in the rain. The soft-ish sidewall is not great for steering feedback if you are tracking the car, but is outstanding for soaking up the bumps on a DD, though I have put the car on the track a few times and they are still very good performers. They're supposed to have a relatively high wear rating also. A good all-rounder IMHO. I love them.

Im just wondering if a Bayson R STi lip would attach to the bottom of the other said lip. So I can appear to be MoaR LoWs than I really am.
