Good afternoon, everyone, from DC. Just wanted to introduce myself and hear your thoughts on the 2013 WRX as I'm considering purchasing one.
Right now I've got a 2008 Mustang GT with a CAI, tune, exhaust, Ford Racing Performance Parts handling pack, and 18" Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I love the Mustang but got the bug to look around when my roommate bought a new BRZ. I like the BRZ but it doesn't have enough power for me. I dabbled in WRX's about 10 years ago when a college roommate had one with a slew of Prodrive goodies. I know the 2014 is in the works so I'm thinking I can get the optimum deal on a '13 in August. What are everyone's thoughts on the 2013 WRX?

It's going to be a big jump going from a V8 to a WRX. The power is there, but the low end torque won't be.
Aside from that, the car is great. No more worrying about crappy weather ![]() |

The only one who can really tell you if you'd like switching from a GT to a WRX is yourself. You should visit a dealership and test drive one. Definitely doesn't have the low end torque that you're used to, but having AWD is totally worth it.

Thanks, guys. I have driven the bugeyes before and enjoyed them. I also have Mustang friends who own them, as well. Great reviews across the board. Was just wondering if there were any quirks I should be aware of.
I'm also concerned about the news I just heard that 2014's will be arriving in September. Do you think that will impact my ability to grab a 2013 in say August or September? |

I searched but really couldn't find a thread without alot of junk in it. How much, on average, are folks paying out the door? Are there any options I should avoid, like the extended arm rest?
How good is the standard stereo without the optional woofer? |

Personally, I ordered a 13 STI 5DR with NAV and several other options for $35K. OTD will vary greatly by state. |
