I looked into this modification I decided the katzkin would be the best option then I decided I didn't want leather seats. Whenever my seats start to get bad i will have them custom covered just with color matched fabric instead of leather.

aw man, wish they had that for cloth, I only have the base model

and as a student, $1500 to put into my car isn't a viable option, ahaha.

I went with the 4X's when I upgraded my wheels. Got about 2k miles on them so far. They're noticeably a quieter tire than the OEM Yokos. Grip on dry and wet has been good. Haven't used them in snow yet since I am in Oakland, but will see how they do when the wifey and I head up to her parents' cabin in Donner/Tahoe area.

Those enkei EKM3s will look sick. I was considering them when I was looking, it came down to those and the raijins, but the raijins won out for their lighter weight and the ability to keep them clean. The mesh style wheels look so good, but are a b$&!h to clean.

Saw a guy online with a BRZ on some 18x7.5 +38 BBS RC's (VW). Not sure of the color, but the wheel and fitment looked good. Considering getting a set myself.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20482

Would these also fit on ours no problem you think? Size and fitment wise..

I'd be interested to see what the blacks look like, what color is your car?

I considered the ranjin but did not want 18, the 18 on your car look HOT, the enkei was actually my second choice I wanted those sparcos in gold or bronze but
my master and commander said no and that she wanted the bronze so I got the enkei's. When I feel for a change I will just switch wheels.
I am use to the mesh style and how much of a PITA they are to clean, the one thing I can say about enkei is that their mesh rims are
very very sweet looking. We should be getting maybe 5" of slush by the time the summer kumhos are on so we shall see how they handle a little moisture.
I very much doubt its gonna stick around with the amount of salt nj has been dumping on the streets of late.

Oh that will definitely work, ice silver and the blue were a few of the top contenders when I was shopping but I decided instead of my usual blue cars I would get dgm for my next car so thats what I ordered. Can't wait to see what they look like on the car.

IE, same offset, but run 7.5's on the front and 8's on the rear, or something like that.. Any ideas?
I think running staggered on AWD is not advised for the same reason that running tires with different tread patterns is not advised. One axle getting more traction then the other (larger contact patch) is bad for the differential and over time can cause damage. There probably wouldn't be anything noticeable in the short term, but i would not chance it.

Not too concerned about opinions on looks. I'm trying to see if they'll fit with said numbers.

Personally, I like them.

Excellent. What range tire size should I consider for these? I had a set of Volk GTN's and 5zigen GN's, both also 18x7.5 +38 that I ran 225/40's on and they looked great and fit perfectly under my Si, even when lowered.

Word. Yeah, I think he has 225's on the 17x8's. I wouldn't want to go any wider, personally..

You can run 215/45 or 40 series and still fit perfectly specially with that width almost any 40 series would look wonderfull on. Just dont go 50 and you will be fine

Excellent. Since I'll be dropping the car soon as well, would you recommend sticking to either 17x8 or 18x7.5 then? Not trying to have any rubbing issues, and I've never been one for giant wide wheels.. What sizes and offsets are optimal for our cars?

Probably happening later this spring or summer. Make sure you get some pictures of how your car looks with 'em.

when choosing a rim you should also be careful buying cheap rims, a cheap rim might be say 100 a rim, example sports edition rims while an enkei might be 20 bucks more, the enkei is made to higher standard so spend the extra 20. Much like with tires you have to research rim quality, some can be too soft and get bent quite easily when you hit a pothole. As for more expensive rims thats a personally choice, I stick to a maximum of 150 per rim. As you are in nyc like myself most ppl drop 2k or more on their rims just to be ballers, vossens, asante, etc. they look nice but can easily be taken out on an nyc pothole. I generally pick rims that I know can take the hit, this will be my second set of enkei rims and also my second set of oz manufactured rims (sparcos). I had the msw rims before hand also from oz so I know what the quality of the rim is already.

Now in terms of brake setups: I like hawks and ebc, I used both on my last car, I prefer regular blanks for my rotors don't care much for drilled or slotted rotors. I use motul 5.1 as my brake fluid of choice already have a case waiting for when I bleed the brakes. The ecsta offer very good grip and performed well on my last setup. before the 4x I had the asx which were their predecessors. I already looked into brakes for our cars and they are very budget friendly hawk pads are about the same price but cost of a rotor and a pretty decent brake pad is very low in comparison to my previous honda civic and accord. Either way you should do your research and pick what works best for you.

http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/tech/index.jsp
tirerack doesn't show prices....and where can I find $120 enkei rims?

All the search results I got were $750+ just for rims.

The cheapest on tire rack is 134 they run sales throughout the years and prices vary based on time of year most of the rims are in the 550 to 650 range depending on size and rim type
