Ok.... so this one has me pulling my hair out.... I have a 2005 wrx wagon, stock turbo, dyno tuned, intake, catless up/down pipe, and 3inch cat back invidia. Just recently I have not been able to hit max boost (16psi) when I am full throttle, i will only build to about 8-10psi all gears. When I go full throttle i almost feel like the car wants to go then just is too weak to go and it wont boost fully. Also I will reflash my tune with my cobb access port and then it will be fine. I will drive it a little, could be a matter of 1 min or an hour and then the car will randomly go back to only hitting about 10psi and feel weak again.... have never had this problem before and i am going crazy..... SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Bad tune maybe? What's your IAM? You should post a log it sounds like your ECU is finding something wrong like some knock especially since you said it's fine when you do a fresh reflash.

What does IAM stand for?? Don't really know all the shortened terms yet. Also I ha e 4 separate tunes for the car from the dyno tune. Does the same thing with them all. ALSO NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS.... forgot to put that in the first post, not yelling that at u haha

Ignition Advance Multiplier. Use your Accessport to check it, I think it's called DAM instead of IAM in the accessport, it should be a number from 1-16. Don't check it right after a reflash check it when you start having the problems you described.
Honestly though you should just talk to the person who tuned your car. |

Ok I'll have to wait because I just reflashed it last night and its still fine bit when it does mess up... If it does.... I'll have to check it out. I say if because I'm trying a tune I have not. Also I have had the car tuned for about a year or so now with no problems. This just popped up out of no where....

when you say reflash do you mean reset the ecu or reflash the whole map?
If you are reseting the ecu try reflashing the map. If you are reflashing the map are you do a realtime flash or a acutal reflash where you plug the two green connectors in? If your doing a realtime try doing a actual reflash. |

Check for any leaks. Also would help if u tell us what your LTFT (long term fuel trims) are. Those are the ones on the cobb ap that say A/F Learning A, B,C,D. They should all be within +/- 7. Post what those numbers are.
You may have gotten some king of boost leAk after the tune. Also what the other guy suggested, check the adv DAM multi on the ap. when the car is 'happy' it should be at 16.. The farther you are away from this number chances are something is up. |

Check for leaks around the ic. The silicone tube from ic primarily. Do you notice any noises?

Well ive checked the IC hoses, and rechecked boost/vac lines and nothing showed, i swapped out my MAS air flow sensor tonight and did a coolant flush(just cuz i needed to and wanted to) but seeing if the MAS air flow sensor does anything also waiting for car to act up to check out everything with the cobb, didnt drive really any today so didnt get a chance to check it... and depending on the situation with this snow thats coming ill try to check that out tom and post up the #'s.
Also thanks everyone for the help so far and to come!!! |

Might be a long shot but do you have a loose heat shield? My cobb shield rattles so bad sometimes my iam would drop like crazy because of all the false knock the ecu was picking up.
I was having the same problem and was chasing my tail and the rattle was pissing me off. Then I got annoyed and took it off and my iam stays at 16 now! |
