I think E85 is a good deal cheaper. Not enough to make up for MPG lost, but you also get that extra power.

What extra power? My understanding is that ethanol contains less energy than gas, not more (thus the lower fuel economy). Right?

As I understand, it's all about knock threshold and resistance to detonation. Tuning for E85 allows for much more timing advance. I believe due to its high octane rating. I'm sure someone else can expound on this further.

Higher octane rating (resistance to detonation) means higher boost/more timing. In layman's term's, it's less "chemically rich" Meaning it takes more volume to generate the same BTUs as gasoline. However, if you had an engine built specifically to take advantage of the higher detonation threshold, you could achieve a greater mechanical efficiency to compensate for the loss in energy content/volume.

But yes, in a car built for gas it hurts fuel economy. It's a big fat waste of money (and no, it's not cheaper than gas) for most of the public but awesome for race cars.

Lesson over, return to stickers.

Not sure if this will count as unique but thought I'd share it anyway...
Thanks for looking...

BTW been trying look and see where I can get the "I <3 my bugeye" decal, (the "bugeye" being a silhouette of the car) if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated...
I know I saw it here somewhere but can't seem to find it now

Crimson Tide decal. Why not jump on the Alabama bandwagon? Everyone else is.

IIRC, E85 is equivalent to an Octane of 105-115.
