I just put in an offer of $200.00 + $50.00 shipping and I also put in an offer for their downpipe of $70.00 + $37.00 shipping. If the DP sucks I'll pick up a more reliable brand pipe but I figured it was worth the try.

What I like about this is it sounds a lot like my BPM Exhaust I have on my old 02 WRX.

My offer of $200.00 got rejected by the seller. When I told him about this thread and how everyone else got it for that price he said stock was low and $235.00 was the best he would do. So I found another seller and waiting to see if he takes $200.00.

But he did except the $70.00 + shipping for the dp. I'll keep you guys up to date when I hear back from the other seller.

the muffler isn't just crooked horizontally, it is also crooked if you were to look at it from a birds eye view, in other words, from the sky to the ground. The muffler is pushed inwards (towards the front of the car) on the passenger side.

The outlet pipe is pointed straight out, I believe.

It looks worse in person.

After reading about this catback and how good it is for the price and sound, I am thinking of picking up just the muffler for my 96 impreza wagon. It has an upgraded NA engine in it, but I need a straight through muffler that has good packing to quite things down. Based off what people on here have said about the sound and such, it would sound sick on my wagon.

I need to pick a muffle up as soon as possible. I was wondering though can anyone tell me if the srs RE muffler is a straight through muffler or not? I am hoping it is a straight through but I need the confirmation before I put money down on this muffler.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by straight through muffler but if you give me an idea of what i'm looking for, I'll go check my out and let you know asap.

Thanks for asking Ok, so you know how the melon or canister style mufflers have a straight through design where the piping goes straight through the center of the muffler and out to the tip? I haven't found any info about if the srs type RE none canister style muffler has a straight through design or not. The reason why I am looking for a straight through design for a muffler is to have the least amount of back pressure possible. I have seen a number of pictures of the SRS RE muffler but not anything about the internal construction.

I just looked at mine. It is straight through but the tube inside the muffler is perforated. I tried to get a picture...the best that I could. I hope this helps.

Hey, thanks for the picture So, was this picture taken from the tip side of the muffler? It definitely looks like it is a straight through design though which is what I am looking for.

In this pic, the tip is 3.5, or 4"?, so then the inner tubing is close to 3"?
It does look that there are two diameters, but if the smaller is close to 3", it's fine.

The inside of the muffler is the same diameter as the exhaust which is 3" and the muffler tip expands out to 4.5".

Mine is like that. Painted the muffler body with black exhaust paint and its not as noticeable.

Yeah, a 4.5" tip is nice though

Well, since it appears that this muffler has a straight through design which is what I am looking for then it is safe to say that I should buy this muffler then . It seems that quite a few of the mufflers have the multiple chambers where the piping is not straight through the muffler like what the stock 02-05 wrx muffler which is not straight through.

Shame to see all the crooked cans. I've had good results with SRS in the past on different vehicles but it's mostly been N1 style and not oval. That's what I want now, too: 3", oval muffler, resonator, sub-$400. There's several options without the resonator out there but I'd love to lower the dbs a little if possible.

I bought a catback off eBay a while ago for my old wrx as a temporary (because my srs snapped in half, ironically) and it was similar to the greddy evo style, however it wasn't an srs. Regardless, it fit terribly and I couldn't get it to bolt up without having an exhaust leak. But it wasn't an srs so I guess this post is kinda irrelevant lol

Mine's still going strong, sounds fantastic and a lot of people ask me what kind of exhaust it is. I tell them it's eBay and they're amazed. I also got the SRS downpipe. I'd suggest getting a flex pipe in there somewhere it is a bit stiff.

Anyone ever buy from this seller? http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUBARU-IMPRE...0f80de&vxp=mtr

I love the look of the muffler in the OP, but seems like a lot of people say it is too quiet? Right now I have an 06 STI catback on my 06 2.5i, and I'm looking for a little bit more sound, plus this n1 style is a bit cheaper than the others. I'm a little worried about putting 3" piping on an N/A engine. Like I said, I have the STI catback and even going from 2.25" to 2.5" worries me. Any advice??

EDIT: Just found a 2.5" inlet SRS Universal Muffler N1 style on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SRS-2-5-R1-S...c9fe34&vxp=mtr

Maybe this would solve my problems. But would keeping the STI midpipe make this muffler sound extremely ricey/ raspy?

Made an offer for $250 on Monday but apparently they've raised their prices. Looks like they're becoming more popular.

Anyone get one for under $300 recently?

I picked one up for $220 plus $50 shipping on 4/26. It was the Type-RE with the blued tip. With summer approaching, I have seen accessories increase in price on eBay. That could be the case with this.

I made my offer for $250 and the seller replied and said that he would sell for $285 or something like that. I then replied and mentioned this thread and stated that many people on NASIOC were recommending the item and were purchasing for $250....he replied right away and honored the $250 price.
