^ you're funny. You can't look at these engines for less than 2k.

I did pretty much what you said, parts alone were around 2.5k. Don't forget the oil cooler and oil pump, too, in addition to the other things that you WILL find you need to replace while you're there.

sounds what happen to me@156K so i just slapped on my old head onto a new complete block 1,920$ timing belt kit water pump 260$ oil pump 150$ Gasket Kit 250$ and lots of time. reuse the the head bolts clean the treading with a metal brush and brake cleaner. clean out the oil pan i used purple power to clean the oil and metal shavings use a gasket maker sealant on the pan and slap it back on caution there is a small o ring on the inside corner of the pan dont loose it good luck and have fun...
