Default is my car safe to drive...

i have a broken vss sensor. speedometer doesnt work. the sensor is broken at the connector. half the sensor is still in the connector. im getting a p0502 code. does the ecu make any adjustments based on speed?

No. I drove without one for a few days noticed no difference. I have one for an 04 sti 6mt. There 100 from the stealership. Ill do 50 shipped anywhere.

thanks for replying.

so it throws a code but doesnt put the ecu in a limp mode or anything like that. cool

i made a idle log and cruised around the block and made a log as well.

if anyone cares to look

When my speed sensor gear took a dump it put my car in limp mode, but I was still able to drive around just fine for a couple of days as long as I stayed out of boost and under 4000 rpm or so.

So was it basically like having a rev limiter or fuel cut at 5k
