I've never heard of a dealer giving tires!! Good for you.

Manual.

The catch with the tires is that they do all the maintenance. But since I have a vanishing deductible on the warranty as long as they do the work, I have no reason not to just take it to them for anything that comes up. My buddy and I were pretty surprised by it too though, to be honest. $2k in tires for buying a car is a pretty decent deal.

Qualified for Subaru VIP pricing through my employer, which came out to $20,469. No haggling required. Also managed to snag 7yr/75k preferred bumper to bumper,GAP, and engine immobilizer security system for a little extra, so OTD was $21,524+TTL.
The Security System w/ Engine Immobilizer is standard on all models so you got the other two for $1,055. I got the 5yr/60K B2B & Gap for $1,390 ($695 each)

I got 1 yr/no mile limit free maintenance but no tire deals. You're going to get not one but TWO *free* sets of tires? What's the story behind that?

From what they told me, its offered in order to keep the servicing business in house. Part of the deal is that I bring the car in to them for all of the scheduled maintenance. So they'll make some of the cost back from me on maintenance outside the 24k free maintenance. Still, I'd be getting the maintenance done anyway, might as well get free tires for it at 50k.

Default Anyone bought a used 2012 Sport Premium (5sp or CVT)??

Have been patiently waiting for cars to appear on the used lots... Local deal (in Atlanta, GA area) has 2 nearly identical sport premiums...

1 5speed with about 15K miles (non-certified used) and 1 CVT service loaner car (certified used) with only 3K miles... Only options are "aero splash guards" and floor mats... Both are local trades from their CarFax...

Anyone in the southern half of the US bought a "gently used" 2012 sport premium (not a Sport Limited) and what sort of % reduction from new car invoice prices are you getting (based on Edmunds, etc.)?

My '12 sport premium was right at 20k out the door w/ 5 sp, kicker speakers, rubber mats, auto dim/ home link mirror. I had VIP pricing but the dealer I got it from gave me less than invoice. It wad one of the only ones I could find in transit after the order cut off fiasco.
Love it.

2013 MBP Sport Limited: $23,149 + Tax/Fees

Options:
Body Side Moldings
Aero Cross Bars
Aero Splash Guards
Auto-Dimming Mirror
All Weather Floor Mats
Cargo Tray
Rear Bumper Applique
Rear Cargo Net

As of now the '13 Sport Limiteds are few and far between at Upstate NY, PA and NJ dealers (averaging 1-3 per dealership). A 2012 at this point is almost impossible. The base MSRP price difference between these two model years seems to only be around $300-$400.

Just bought a used 2012 Premium Sedan here in Northern California, with 12k miles on it. Sticker price when it was new was $23,237. I was able get it for $17,500 + Tax/Fees. I'm thinking I jumped the gun a little, but I'm happy with the car.

Features:
Dark Gray Metallic
All-Weather Package
Alloy Wheel Package
Moonroof
CVT; Pzev
Auto-Dim Mirror/Homelink
Bumper Applique

I'm thinking about ordering a Crosstrek xv limited. Has anyone placed an order or purchased one off the lot? I'm curious on what you paid.

thanks

Default Thanks folks!

I appreciate the info on Sport Premiums folks here and elsewhere these past few months... Looks like I'm headed to the Subaru Outback forum as I found there were some quiet incentives on the Outbacks that put it within our reach and the car just fit us better...

For folks in the Southeast, I had a great sales experience at Troncalli Subaru in Atlanta / Cumming, GA area (same outfit also owns the sister Subaru store in Kennesaw). Much better qualified staff and overall shopping experience that worked with me on both ends of the deal compared to 2 other dealers I shopped.

Enjoy your ride folks!

I haven't seen any posts in a while so hopefully I am not missing a 2013MY Prices Paid thread...

Anyway, I am helping my younger sister out with the purchase of her first new car and had a few questions as I am not totally familiar with Subaru's --other than my Uncle's '02 STI which is no help to us because it is basically a rally race car at this point.

As I posted in the 11+ ordering thread we were looking for a '12 in the April/May timeframe and we couldn't find an exact match so she ended up factory ordering a '13 in July that has yet to have a VIN assigned to it and no expected delivery date.

Moving on... After talking with the Sales Manager he found the exact car (nearly) she ordered and arranged to have it delivered -- it arrives Friday.

It's a Marine Blue Limited 5-dr with Moonroof/Nav and Pop. Pkg. 1. She had ordered Remote Start which can be added.

Pricing
We are members of USAA so our plan is to go in with our USAA printout on member pricing which shows about 7% under MSRP.

MSRP being $26,047 (incl. destination, excl. TTL)
USAA Pricing - $24,306

Thoughts/Questions for other members:
- What is dealer invoice on a 5-door Limited? I saw the .pdf for the 2012s so I gather it's relatively similar.
- With knowing the limited availability of this vehicle anyone feel this may be too aggressive of an asking price; e.g., Law of Supply & Demand
- Conversely, with having to wait so long, a few documented dealership communication screw-up’s and a VIN not being generated 4-months later think we can negotiate even further?
- If so, should we save this “negotiating power” for other areas, such as buying accessories/parts at cost+5% for 1yr? A term I negotiated on my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I should mention she is perfectly willing and ready to pay sticker as she feels the car is worth it, but it is always nice to save some coin.

Warranty or VSA:
Any deals to be found through this forum?

I found the following online: Gold Plus, Subaru MSRP ($0 ded)
3 years / 45,000 miles $616
4 years / 60,000 miles $820
5 years / 60,000 miles $924
6 years / 60,000 miles $1,128
6 years / 80,000 miles $1,620
7 years / 70,000 miles $1,620
5 years / 100,000 miles $2,040
6 years / 100,000 miles $2,224
7 years / 100,000 miles $2,522

Gold Plus, Maserati/Subaru Dealership in Massachusetts
($100 ded) ($50 ded) ($0 ded)
3yr/45k $295.00 $346.00 $459.00
4yr/60k $495.00 $549.00 $595.00
5yr/60k $559.00 $615.00 $695.00
6yr/60k $649.00 $695.00 $775.00
6yr/80k $825.00 $949.00 $1049.00
7yr/70k $849.00 $935.00 $1035.00
5yr/100k $995.00 $1195.00 $1295.00
6yr/100k $1149.00 $1225.00 $1395.00
7yr/100k $1275.00 $1375.00 $1495.00

These prices seem to reflect the 160% markup that most dealers place on extended warranties.

What have others paid?

FWIW… When we bought my wife’s 2012 Sienna in May we wanted to purchase a 7/75 Platinum VSA (vehicle service agreement). The MSRP was $1350; the dealer had/has a special for $1095. I did my homework and one of the Siennachat.com members is/was a financial manager at a Toyota of Danville in Ohio (we are in MD) and was offering discounted pricing on VSAs and the price on the 7/75 was $500. When I declined the finance guy’s offer at our dealership and explained that we were buying our VSA from a different dealership for$500 he grabbed a binder from the shelf, looked something up and honored the $500 price on the spot. My point… Toyota had marked up that particular warranty by at least 170%.

Maintenance Plan
Any deals out there on Maintenance Plans?

I saw some posts but no one really said what plan they got and whether the price they paid was a negotiated deal.

Wow, that was a much longer post than I had originally anticipated.

Thanks for any help, feel free to e-mail/PM me.

And, I’ll be sure to share what she paid after the deal is done.

****************************
UPDATE... Deal is Done

2013 Limited Hatchback in Marine Blue, Moonroof/Nav, Pop Pkg 1, Remote Start and Cargo net.
MSRP (incl destination): $26,492
Invoice: $24,781
Target Price: $25,000 (or 1% over invoice)
Paid: $25,500 (3% over invoice, or 3.5% off MSRP)

Add-ons:
2-years/24k-mile maintenace plan (paid - $0.00, MSRP ???)
7yr/100k $0-ded Gold Warranty (paid - $1465, MSRP $2522)

TTL:
6% MD Tax - $1,530
MD Tags - $180
Dealer Fees - $199

FINAL OTD Price - $28,874
(paying MSRP for all items would have resulted in an OTD price of $30,983 + maintenace plan)

Hopefully this helps some folks when going to purche a MY13 Impreza.

*Mods, if there is a MY13 prices paid thread feel free to move this post.

Default Bought back in early March 2012

2012 Impreza Hatchback Premium, 5MT, PZEV, with moonroof/alloy wheels and all-weather packages, homelink auto-dimming mirror, roof cross bars, fog lights, side molding, bumper applique, cargo tray and hatch rolling cover.

I would have preferred the Sports Premium manual with the roof rails, but they didn't offer it with the moonroof. Had to go to the Sports Limited, and I like to drive manuals, so stuck with the Premium and added packages to get the same functionality with a moonroof and manual transmission.

21,500 + TTL.
