hi everybody
my problem is my type r v3' sti wont start basically it was running fine until i swapped the ecu to check if anither ecu worked and then swapped back. started the car it ran for couple of minutes and stopped. it wont start at all when i turn on the ignition battery and oil light come on like normal but the cel doesnt come on and the fuel pump doesnt prime.i have checked and changed the fuses but no luck. can someone help. thanks

Did you disconnect the battery when you swapped out the computers? If not there could be a possibility it fried.

no i didnt disconnect thd ecu.could i have fried it.the other ecu is not working either.
it wirked when i swapped them.its an apexi i swapped again to see if it would start but no luck also the fc commander didnt work either. |

It's certainly a possibility. The ecu's of any car are somewhat fragile to electro static discharge and if not protected from it (by disconnecting the battery) it has potential to ruin it. Happened on a 300zx I had.

how can i check it.could it be a relay because fuel pump is not priming,i jave really meesed up.

It depends how good you are with electronics. I have worked on computers for years now and for me to crack an ecu open would be no problem. However I wouldn't recommend it for anyone that has never worked on them before.
I would honestly take it to a reputable mechanic or, if any are willing around your area, see about switching the ecu with a known good one. But make sure the battery is unhooked or it could fry their computer. The pump not priming was the same exact issue I had with my 300zx. The pump runs off of the computer. |

its the 30AMP green sqyare fuse in the bonnet.so if anybodys car doesnt start fuel doesnt prime always check that.there aee two in the box.its thd top one.
