Has anyone ran with this Group before? Are they friendly to subarus? It looks like their Classes is by Engine size instead of SCCA Classing. That doesn't sound to bad IMO. Is anyone else planning on going to this event?

They are a good group, the engine size deal means that you won't be competitive. I have raced with all the local groups and my favorite has been the equip rapide group. They have an event this sunday at mineral wells (I will be there) and they use scca classes and pay prizes for the top pax times.

I am only able to make Saturday events. I think I'll go to this event and see how I do. I'm coming off a really good season from last year back home in Chicago, that included an FTD. I guess there are a lot more miata favor course in Chicago. Do the course here tend to be more open?

I'll see you at the ntxas autox. Great group class 2 is what I'm in and it's pretty competitive. But now that I got some z2's I'm finally putting up a fight lol

Yes! This should be a fun one! This will be my first event at mineral wells. We'll see how the Dunlop Z2's hold up to mineral wells lol.

Good luck with that. That place destroys tires.
Still tons of fun though. |

Dallas Raceway is my new favorite venue. Shade from the bleachers, real bathrooms, and good surface. (Just watch the light poles ; )
Mineral wells is nice because its so big and the tracks can get pretty fast. |

Dallas Raceway has been pretty awesome so far.
Still have a lot of love for the Bus Lot...Very sad that they had to narrow it for the new road. ![]() |

Well I'm getting all excited about the event but I have the rear of the car all taken apart to replace the rear wheel bearings but its been a pita so far. That 12" long bolt that connect the lateral links to the rear spindle isn't coming out. I got the nut off but one bolt won't push out. Hope I can get it figured out and back together by next weekend

I really like Dallas Raceway too, great surface and they open the concession stand too. The pit area is a bit small but not too bad.

Well I was able finish up the wheel bearings today. Also able to throw on my autocross brake pads, wheels and tires so the car is already for Saturday. Just need to pick up some ice on the way to the event.

I'm happy with 3rd in class that I got at the event but I will not attend another event out there unless I have tires I really don't care about. I've never been on a surface that was so hard on tires

Yeah the surface sucked.
I'm not happy that the rx7 got 4th somehow even though it only did 2 runs... |

Looking at the results from the event the two runs for the RX7 were DNFs but the guy then was driving an S2000 for the rest of his runs.

I figured he jumped in another car. I guess next time I'll just jump in a faster car too lol.
Thanks for giving me some pointers and ridding with me. You were killing it out there too! |

If you only hit one cone I think you did really good i hit several. You look like you're in control of the car the entire time, with the way I have my swap bars set I was having to fight the rear end from coming around. Thanks for the video

Heh, I tried to warn ya! It's kinda sad that place is in such bad shape...it's a LOT of open space to race on.

Thanks, no prob. Yeah I was in the same boat early on when my compression was too soft, (as bslate3 can attest). |
