I have a slow leak at the crimped metal section underneath the upper coolant reservoir. I called a couple shops near me, and so far no leads on getting the hose repaired or a new one fabricated. I did some searching in the Brakes/Steering forum and found a couple sources for braided SS lines, but it looks like there were some quality control issues with those parts. I don't want a bigger headache than necessary.
This OE hose assembly is a ridiculous $300. Has anyone had any luck having this part repaired or a new one made in the Houston or Austin areas?

If you take the hose assembly off the car, these guys can duplicate it for a fraction of the cost http://www.wilcosupplyinc.com/ . Over the years they have made power steering hoses, AC, and oil cooler hoses for me. None of these were for a Subaru, but a hose is a hose. Good Luck.

^^^what he said. I've never used his recommendation as I'm in Fort Worth but I have a local hose supply house that will build/repair any hose. My 06wrx needed a high pressure AC line that was $300 new and they made it for $40 using my old one as a template and the original aluminum line.

Hydradyne Hydraulics makes hoses while you wait.
Not specifically an automotive source, but they have just about every fitting you can imagine... |

Thanks for the recommendations everyone. Going to rebuild the damn PS pump which is also leaking and then next will take the hose in to one of these joints to get fabricated. I'll let you know how it goes!
The PS system on this car has been my worst nightmare ![]() |
