OEM thermostats only in our engines. Seen waaaaaaaay too many problems from aftermarket ones.

The AVCS wiring is on my list!
OEM Tstat. Got it! I haven't ordered anything yet. Outback Auto ordered a V7 for me and they are doing the install. I'm waiting on them to shoot me a price list. |

Update: I have 400+ miles on the V7 so far and it is AMAZING... and I haven't even really pushed the motor.
I've been taking it easy. I have a follow up appointment on Friday at Outback to have the oil changed and double check everything to make sure everything is good to go. Pretty stoked. Thanks everyone for your advice and input. ![]() |

Looks gorgeous. Where'd they wind up sourcing the engine from?

Congrats on completing the swap, it looks great. Glad to hear you like it, the motor is incredibly smooth isn't it? One suggestion for you, since you are running a bigger TMIC i would look into getting a V7 ST splitter to match the size on the IC and make it as efficient as possible.

Thanks everyone. I'm really stoked.
Bushflyr, Can't remember where the motor came from, was told in person but it's not on my invoice. I know it came from the East Coast is that any consolation. Good point on the intercooler shroud Tweeder! Looks like IA Performance, RalliSpec, and Garage Tuning have had them before. I'll shoot some emails out and check the private classified section. |

I'm planning on this swap by the end of the year. Would be sooner, if it wasn't for the damn wedding in the summer My 04 wrx has crazy high miles and if the motor decides to poop on me, this is my next big step. All of my close friends are Subaru guys, we would be doing the swap ourselves. I was curious to know if you could PM me the price of the v7 from Outback. Just trying to get a ballpark guesstimate of the swap process that was done very recently. |

Just came across this thread, good looking swap. Come by the Thursday Night Renton Landing meets, we need more Saabaru.
