This was the last plot of the day.

The setup consistently made 5+ hp/tq through the rev range even with the dyno room and car heat soaked by the end of the day. Honestly I'm disappointed in the performance. I'm going to drive it for a while and maybe perform the test again when the car is at a higher output level, as it should have better results when the cat-back is closer to being a bottleneck.

What power level is this at? Stage 2? And what is the baseline? The MadDad? Or did you have the Q300? Did you do any runs with a stock exhaust or an open downpipe to see how that would compare? To me this result shows that the catback really doesn't matter at this power level.

The plot shows max 346 wtq/314 whp. It shows an honest 5hp/tq and in some areas 10hp/tq. This was vs the Q300 (red, baseline).

I don't see how a comparison to stock or open would mean anything since any cat-back makes more than stock and no cat-back will make more power than an open DP.

Saying results of a cat-back at these levels doesn't matter is a subjective statement that I don't know I agree with. To some these gains may be worth it for others, not. Bang for the buck should be there since the cost would be lower as well.

The point was to compare against the most popular cat-back on the market, the Q300, because more enthusiasts and shops can relate to its sound and performance than any other system. The goal was to make more power at similar or lower sound levels, with a better price point. This was accomplished, but not at a level I feel warrants moving forward with product manufacturing. At least not for a stage 2 car, so I'm going to think on it some more and maybe do more testing in the future.

Duh, obviously shows power and torque on the plot. My mistake there. I understand your goals and I agree with your conclusions. I just thought it would be interesting to see the stock catback and no catback tested to show the extremes. If there is <10WHP difference between stock and open, then I don't think there's any point in continuing this research. But if there's a huge difference, then maybe it's possible to squeeze more power out in a quiet package.

Going open I'm going to say you're looking at another ~15hp+ Of course it would be horribly loud!

Oh wow, that's a decent difference. Maybe I need to look into a cutout for the track!

With a speed density tune I believe going from a TBE exhaust to open exhaust would necessitate a retune, not that that should deter anyone from going to an open exhaust for racing.
