Default Impreza buying help 2.5rs vs wrx

Hey guys new guy here and new to the subaru world. I guess you can say I am a semi subaru owner as of now as I have a scion fr-s with the subaru motor but looking for a good 2nd car as well. Need to get something that is more friendly for my dog (90lb black lab) and something good in snow would be nice as the fr-s is not ideal. My budget is 6k and I have been looking around and have found 2 options and need some help.

Car 1: $5000 04 impreza 2.5rs 5 speed black 106k miles very recent timing belt kit, spark plugs, wires, and dc axle back done. Inspected at Subaru dealer with the paperwork this week. Guy bought it for his gf as a good winter car and she hates driving stick.

Car 2: $5000 2003 wrx 5 speed yellow (so ugly) 95k
Bad - Check engine light with P0031 code and needs a new radiator. Timing belt has not been done.
Good - K & N Air Filter, 20mm Subaru Rear Sway Bar, Kartboy Rear Endlinks, Perrin Lightweight Crank Pulley, Triple Thick Silicon Australian Coolant Hoses, 15% Black Tint, 17" Rims, Stock Head Unit w/ 4 Gauge Output Converter Line to trunk, OEM Boost Gauge. Changed oil with Mobile 1, 5W-30 Synthetic Oil every 3,000 miles. Recently changed transmission and rear differential fluid. I have a log book of all the work I have done with mileage. Second owner, clean CarFax

My biggest thing I am torn on is I want the wrx but I HATE the color and I see a lot of wrx's with rod knocks or turbo issues. If it was blue or black I would take it now ha ha. I am looking for a good 2nd car that is reliable and doesnt need much work as I have little free time. This car might see some autox but unsure at the moment as I am torn if I want to use the fr-s instead for autox

I am thinking the rs might be a better choice as I can do a wrx/sti conversion down the road or maybe get a wrx/sti later it has less miles and a non turbo motor usually lasts longer. I did talk him down to 5k already but I feel like if he took 4,500 I would be sold. I feel like I might be a dick as I already talked him down. Whats your guys take on it?

RS all the way given the two choices. I think u will regret getting a yellow car since u already dislike it now. That's a sign to not get it

This is a personal decision that you have to make. Reread your own post. I think the pros and cons are obvious. Take a look at the stickies above both here and in General. Specifically:
