Default newbie question: Dp for wrx

I have a 2006 wrx tr.

Just bought a down pipe. I know I need to tune my car for it but will it be a problem to run it for about a month without a tune or cobb AP? is it safe? Thanks.

Yes. No.

One of those answers is right. When you have researched enough you will know what the correct answer is.

Heh... You'll be fine, but probably will get a CEL for rear O2.

You deff did not research....and NO!! Unless you stay completely out of boost, and even then I wouldn't risk it

Forget about research. Think about what you're asking for half a second.

There's your answer. A quick drive to the shop is one thing. Driving on it for a month?? That's the same as not tuning. You'll have (on average according to the insurance company) 1,000 miles on an untuned car. Why would you think that's ok when you know you need to tune for it?

I swear, it's not that common sense ain't so common, it's that common sense is non-existent.

might not be safe to run it without a tune but if your car is still fresh and you have to wait for few days (not a month), go for it or just keep it home untill you are able to tune your car.

Ack sorry, that did not translate well before my morning coffee.

OP - search for downpipe faq, read, then search for engine management faq. And welcome to the forums.
