We are looking for another shop hand. This position is nothing glamorous, you will basically be in charge of keeping the shop clean, strapping cars on the dyno, running errands and basically anything we tell you to do all without damaging any of the cars or surroundings. The good thing about the position is its a way into the company and if it seems like you would fit well in another department moving up would be very likely. We are looking for someone who knows atleast the basics when it comes to cars, has common sense, can multi-task without forgetting things and someone who is organized and can complete tasks in a timely fashion that makes sense. You also must have reliable transportation, a valid drivers license and be able to drive modified manual transmission vehicles around the parking lot area.

The position will be Monday-Friday 7:30am-5pm. Starting pay is the current minimum wage.

Controls and Vehicle Tuning Engineer
Development of active AWD control algorithms and calibration of vehicle performance.

Hours:
Salary Position - standard 8-5 hours
Expect to work more or less than standard hours at times as work load varies with program timing and deadlines

Special requirements:
Knowledge of vehicle dynamics (understeer/oversteer, yaw rate, friction circle, axle and wheel loads, and the relationship between all of these and torque application to the rear axle)
Ability to convert vehicle dynamics concepts and equations into software code
Valid driver's license and ability to pass advanced driving certifications (position will require in-car work at test facility)

Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink preferred. Any experience with calibration is a plus.

Now this sounds like an awesome position, however I don't have the technical background for those requirements. Anyway, hopefully you find some good candidates!

I suppose I could add a bit more description of the position for people...


The job involves driving cars and tuning AWD system output. Asphalt, gravel, grass, sand, snow, and ice. Testing on all different surfaces and tuning AWD torque delivery as necessary to meet customer requirements. In some cases it is necessary to modify the software and develop new control algorithms to achieve desired function and performance.
