At the Track Gauging Interest: AZP Private Track Day @ NJMP in June

I'm trying to gauge interest in having a private track day for our clients and prospective clients at NJMP Thunderbolt this spring. It would involve a Novice group and an Advanced group, each group getting about 4hrs of track time each. Novices would have instructors and I'll have Alex working the grill for lunch! Also our sponsored Grand Am driver(s) will be there to conduct a track walk and classroom instruction.

It will be on a weekday and cost is looking to be in the $250-$350 range.

Post up here and let us know. We also have a thread on http://facebook.com/azpinstalls about it.

"Novices would have instructors"

Will these instructors be riding shotty, or will they be the ones driving you around for a few laps?

I can probably come out on a weekday. June is pretty open for me other than our potential NASA weekend.

This would be basically a more indepth track school. You will get between 3-4 hrs of actual track time with your instructor on track with you driving and them coaching as well as classroom instruction with our Grand Am Professional Race Car Driver/Coach. Aaron Poveledo has road raced all over the world and currently is racing in the Grand-Am series (we actually help sponsor his car) and is a Professional Track coach. He will be on hand for the classroom sessions and will give a track walk that is I valuable. He will also be on hand to give pointers and answer questions you may have about professional racing as well.

Don't worry guys, once we get the details (mostly waiting on the Pro to clear his calendar) then we will get all the details out there and start registration.

I'd definitely be interested in doing this.

It sounds like it'd be a really good event for a first-timer, correct?

Yup, we love taking out first-timers, especially to this track day, it will be a bit more low-key than a typical HPDE where you have 4 groups competing for track time. This will only be novice and advanced so everyone will have plenty of track time without rushing things.

Thanks! We've been instructing with NASA and doing various other aspects of track events with NASA for over 10 years. This will be a low key Subaru-centric event with a nice BBQ and probably a meet/dinner the night before. Should be a blast. We want to try to get more Subie folks interested in doing HPDEs since we've had so much fun over the years doing them.

Count me in as well. If the event date falls on a weekday (hopefully it wont) I may not be able to make it do to my work schedule. If you scheduled it for a Friday meet/greet bbq and track day Saturday that would be awesome. I just attended the dc area scca track day at Summit Point a few weeks ago. Everyone who does this for the first time better be ready cuz a track day is like crack, very addictive. :-) :-)

Unfortunately it would definitely be on a weekday, the costs are way too high for an intimate event like this on a weekend.

I quit Facebook after using it for a few years.

This sounds tempting. I can never go to any HPDE event or even Autocross because I don't get weekends off, maybe this one will work and I can finally get some track time!

This sounds like a great event for a first timer like me and the price is actually affordable

1 step closer as the date we are trying to get is available at the track as well as our Pro Racer/Coach... Will keep everyone posted.
