Default BC BR Squeak coming from rear

I just installed my BC BR coilovers on saturday and they feel great but when I hit bumps I hear a squeak coming from the rear. I believe its only on the passenger side but whatever I fix on that side, ill be sure to check on the other.

I'm 99% sure that everything is tightened down all the way and plan on rechecking it all once I get home today from work.

Any immediate thoughts as to what it could be if everything does happen to be tightened down? Theres no clunking and when i'm on smooth roads theres no sound and it feels great.

Thanks

Are they brandy new or used? either way, a squeak can come from anywhere, unfortunately. Could be a piece of dirt/sand whatever stuck between the camber plate and the chassis - remove, clean, reinstall. Could be the strut shaft sliding in and out - grease it up. Could be the spring isn't 100% in place.

I'd go back through, loosen everything up, sock it all back down and take it for a ride. most likely it's something silly.

They're used so it could definitely be that something isn't properly lubricated. The strut shaft could be the culprit.
What kind of grease should be used?

Thanks

I have some BC coilovers with over 15k miles, the rear ones clunk and squeak all the time. I got them without the spanner wrench so I cannot loosen/tighten everything back up.

You could be describing the noise that is normal for that kind of shock.

What dampening setting are you running at? What about spring preload?

I don't think it's normal at all because its happening only on the rear. The dampening setting is set to 6 and the preload is set to 4mm (stock from factory). I am going to redo the preload on the back as a safety precaution when I get a chance.

Is it like a squishy sound? Or a high pitched squeak?

Higher pitched. It sounds like the spring is making the noise. Could that have to do with preload?

Im trying to remember if the BCs come with a plastic washer between the springs and the seats. Sounds like the spring is moving on the seat when its compressing (Which is normal..when you compress a spring the ends will want to rotate in relation with each other)

I dont believe they do, at least when I initially set the preload I didnt notice a washer. So maybe when i set the preload again, I should put some lithium grease in between the seat and the spring both on the top and bottom.

Lithium grease isnt going to last in there. Itll wash right out.

You have a spherical bearing at the top up front. You don't at the rear.

<I've installed about 100 sets of coilovers. I'm not talking out of my ass.

Oh no I believe you. I just responded back to BC inquiring about the bearings.it would just surprise me if they were just straight up gone, but they are used so who knows what the previous owners did.

Thanks for all ur help

There's a good chance they don't come with them period.

When the spherical bearing in your front camber plates start to go, you'll have the same noise up there too.

So if they didn't come with any period, is it something that can be added or no? Would a poorly set preload allow the spring to move more freely than it should therefor causing noise on bumps?

Yes, they can be added to setups that don't have them. It's just a giant washer essentially.

Preload won't effect it. The spring rotates as its being compressed, no way around that.

Ok, well thanks a lot for your help. I'll be consulting BC and most likely getting some bearings.

I just drove home and it was wet out, and theres no squeak. So that leads me to believe it's a lubrication issue. Is there anything you can recommend to remedy this?
