I'll be installing DB6501s this weekend, along with a bunch of Rammat and Ensolite IUO, already replaced the deck a while ago. Next will be amping them and removing the rears, then adding a small sub. Can't wait. RIP LeRoi.

Awesome thread. I'm now looking for a LC6i for my 2011. Need to figure out a box setup for my hatch. I personally don't want to lose my spare

For import alliance I think im going to put 4 inch speakers on the deck lid. 2 reasons to draw more people to my car during the show and two when were at are weekly suabru meets we have something to listen to. I can just pop my trunk to hear the highs rather than having my doors open.

NICE WORK! I used to install at CCity right out of high school, man i learned alot and cut the **** out of my hands. Ive been wondering how I could throw my two MTX's in there without killing trunk space. Idk why I never thought about making a box down there. Looks great man, this is going to be my little project over winter!
Also im usually in Clarksville every year, right off of Dunbar Cave! My aunt owns Luster Salon, and I drove my first 11 wrx with happens to be the same color as the one you worked on at that subaru dealership. How weird! |

Dude that's sweet, I used to leave off Dunbar cave rd. That car is actually mine in the pics. You should stop by if you come to Clarksville.
I still have the same setup since I've finished. There just hasn't been no reason to change. Factory speakers still running strong.lol I'm probably going to upgrade to a optima red top here shortly.though I have installed a remote start system and a push to start on my car last month. I'll have some updated pics and video here shortly of what I have done. Oyea if anyone new checking this thread please leave me feedback. Good or bad lol thanks Last edited by imprezed2011wrx; 12-15-2011 at 02:16 AM. |

hey, this is an awesome install but i have a quick question on the lc6i, mostly about the front speakers. How did you wire them into the lc6i? Are the speakers crossed over at the head unit or at the woofer? Where did you tap into the speaker wires to wire the lc6i, and did you run the front speakers into channel two? Sorry, if this is hard to understand, I just came out of surgery and am a bit drugged up so my thoughts are a little fuzzy.

imprezed2011wrx, nice build. I am seriously considering on doing this on my 2011 WRX. Question though... instead of using the lc6i and an amp, some people have recommended I use an Alpine MRX-V60 5 channel amp as it has the line converter integrated inside the amp already. Just trying to save cost. I would probably just use this to drive the 4 stock speakers for a while until I can save up enough scratch for the subwoofer install. Also, if I were to do the subwoofer install, would this MRX-V60 be enough to drive those woofers? Also, what is the cost for making a fiberglass enclosure like this (never worked with fiberglass myself) or to have someone do it for me? Again, nice build!!

imprezed2011wrx, curious how you wired your LC6i. Did you use it to power just your front speakers the Subs or both?
I just purchased a 2012 and am trying to figure out the best/easiest way to hook it up. I would imagine if you powered the front speakers you would have had to splice to the HU run back to the LC6i and then run back to each speaker. Hope this questions makes sense. Also did you use the 20 pin connector? http://ae64.com/20-pincombinedharness.htm |

So if I don't pan to put in a subwoofer do I need the LC6i? Seems like an amp would make a good difference. Great info and thank you for posting!
