2006 wrx
purchased with 43k miles stock
Went stage 1, then stage 2 pretty quick. maybe around 48k
Currently 78K miles went vf39 with all supporting mods maybe 5-8k miles ago.

Running strong. No grinds EVER, shifts smooth as butter.

Stock clutch, Xmember bushings, Holy shift kit, Group N tranny mount, SS.

Going E85 this friday, with ID1000's will also be putting in "Andrewtech Cocktail" at the same time. Going for as low as possible torque, while increasing the whp and a smooth power band to avoid shocking the transmission.

84k, stock clutch and gears, no issues yet. My time will come, i'm sure. I put on a lot of highway miles however so i'm hoping to just do LGT 1-3/4 and be done with it for <$1k.
Update, 96k miles. Still goin strong.

I have recently completed an 07 sti tranny and driveline swap into my 06 wrx and am trying to figure out how to hook up the speed sensor on the top of the tranny into the wrx wiring harness. How can this be done so I can get my car out of limp mode and use my speedo again? Idk where else to post this as I am new to this website.

96k original owner

2 clutches (OEM and Act street)

Tranny is still strong but the clutch fork either popped out or broke (or both) yesterday. I can't really tell for sure. It's going to the shop soon to so they can yank the tranny and look it over.

edit:

from 2/14/11

(Finally replaced the clutch at 62k, but went with an OEM kit and a new OEM flywheel. I installed Motul 300 Severe Gear not long before the clutch repair. The tranny still feels good! *knock on wood*)

When I put the Act in at 85k the OEM parts were still good. I had the infamous cracked ringland so it was one of those "while your in there" things.

Original clutch, very impressive.

121k miles original Trans and third clutch. Original clutch was changed at 37k (600 miles after I bought it), original owner obviously annihilated the oem clutch with sweet moves. Act pressure plate failed at 100k, clutch disc still looked brand new.

06 WRX Wagon
SPT intake and catback exhaust on the car when I bought it at ~26k
Open-source tuned with Romraider running what I'd call a mild stage 1
Currently at 100,150 miles
Stock transmission and clutch. Transmission serviced by dealership at scheduled intervals. No issues.

06 WRX TR (8/05 manufacture date)
116xxx miles on stock tranny (or so I believe. I'm the 3rd owner)
AP OTS Stage 2 for about 10K miles now. With the last 5K miles on an ACT HDSS clutch. I've had a tranny grind since I've got the car (stock) at 98K miles. Best explanation I have is in my thread for it: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2475763

Going VF39, STI TMIC, EWG, ID1000cc, Walbro 255, and a Turbosmart BPV sometime next month. Hoping my tranny doesn't crap out on me anytime soon.

EDIT: Since purchased at 98K miles I've yet to launch it.

07 WRX TR, throwout bearing split around 35,000. Cobb tuning Surgeline said they have never seen one like mine before. Had a new ACT streetlight flywheel and clutch installed, went Cobb stage 2. Put another 10k miles on it and blew a gear. I do not drive my car hard, no launches, no track days. I bought it with 22k miles on it. Since I lost the gear, I've installed a PPG 5 speed gearbox.

WRX TR stock 60k miles broke 2nd gear. I did almsot everything you weren't supossed to do to a tranny. Fixed it with oem with a new clutch because mine was burnt, and now at 91k with 247WHP broke 3rd at about 6.5 rpm. Did alot of downshifting at highway speed to 3rd gear. Now going ppgs set

Leaky axle seal. Never noticed. Low fluid blew out third gear accelerating on a on ramp to the freeway.

We need torque numbers. WHP is irrelevant.

147,000 miles on 06 wrx wagon. I drive it at least once everyday since I've owned it 1 1/2 years launch control sett at 4k on mine will break loose of the line the trick is to find the grab point and slow release . DO NOT side step the clutch on an AWD CAR you goons. Have a mach V ss braided clutch line and new TMIC been running coob stage 1 since march 2012 have changed front and rear diff fluid at 110k when purchased and transmission fluid swap @111k broke 90 degrees in drift in the car grinded 2/3/5 multiple times learning to drive a DBW car trans A OKAY you can grab quick gears even flat foot shifting you have to police yourself. The power on the cars is the boost...boost past them who cares how quick the other guy is going through his gears let him take the gasoline fumes from the BPV. Hope this helps

Car now has 120k miles ran cobb stage 2 for a good 40k miles. Running stage 1 right now because clutch seems to be slipping, want it to last a tad bit longer. Only thing is second gear synchro sometimes is a bit stiffer than the others, always been that way.
Slight grind in second three times total from releasing clutch a tad too soon. I launch the car at anywhere from 3k rpm to 4.5k rpm, don't need anything higher to get a good launch. I don't flat foot shift. Car runs strong, tranny shifts smooth. Stock linkage and bushing along with subaru extra s oil. All will upgraded when I install a new clutch and the vf39.
So far so good. If I ever do blow the gear set ill go LGT gears 1-4 stock 5th since I won't be making over 320whp on my final tune. I believe blown trannys in all subarus is at fault to the driver unless pushing high numbers of power. But that's just my opinion. When I shift I allow the cars fulcrum point (makes sense to me) to shift before entering the next gear to minimize shock load.

2007 Wrx tr.

Stock trans.

Haven't put it on a dyno but it's pretty quick and has gobs of low end tq.

Mods:
Spectre air filter
Gimmick aftamaf
Gmmick inlet
Evo3 big 16g 7cm^ Turbo
Forge MBC @ 19.3psi
Cxracing tmic w/ tilt mod
Cxracing aluminum y pipe
Socal p&p TB
TB Coolant bypass mod
Invidia 3" catless bellmouth dp
Hks 3" exhaust
Cxracing aluminum radiator
Deatchwerks 300lph fuel pump
Southbend dxd stage 3 carbon kevlar clutch
Perrin rear subframe diff lockdown
Custom street tune

The car sees 8-10psi launches weekly at the local races and has done so since i bought her back in 2010 with just exhaust and an exedy stage 1. I've been on the evo3 and dxd for close to 15k now with no issues, occasionally i scratch the 1-2 shift but that's due to shifting faster than i can punch clutch pedal. Not a single issue yet. I'm about to install an 8cm turbine housing, socal p&p intake mani, and 1250cc injectors with an E85 tune. We'll see how she holds up after.

I am the second owner of the car, changed the clutch last June. I was driving home from visiting my parents one morning and was cruising when 3rd gear decided to blow up. This happened on May 9, 2013. Luckily I put the car in neutral and pulled off to the side and had it towed home. Nothing else was damaged but the 3rd gear set. I had the transmission rebuilt by Subaru. To this day with the new transmission I feel when shifting into third that sometimes it wants to "catch" or pull itself in. Its hard to explain but it did it before in the old transmission also. I feel like its only a matter of time before 3rd goes again. I wish I knew why it did this or if its driver error. It's mainly when cruising through the gears and not getting on it.

2007 WRX TR
-Bought the car with 23k
-Ran stage 2 power for 27k
-At 50k upgraded to stage 3
-Stage 3 for the last 3k miles

Power (mustang Dyno): 338whp/wtq. 21psi on 91octane

Engine Mods: Blouch 20GXT-TD06 w/full bolt-ons. (Can give more details if asked)

Current Drive Train Mods: Competition Stage 2 Clutch/ lightweight flywheel, Front/Rear shifter bushings, Group N trans mount, kartboy positive shift kit (trans member bushings), beatrush pitch mount.

The stock clutch with 50k miles on it, (27k of those miles stage 2 miles) lasted for just over two months with stage 3 power before it started to slip in 3rd and 4th. Replaced with : Competition Stage 2 Clutch rated for 450wtq.

So far, I have had ZERO issue with my transmission,. I do 2nd and 3rd gear pulls daily. 4th gear pulls occasionally but not often. New clutch now just fully broken in and holding strong!

In a couple weeks I will be doing a 4.11 swap. I just ordered a new drive ring and pinion from http://www.rallispec.com/ and already have the rear differential. The only thing I need is the correct speedo gear. With the amount of power I’m pushing I want to reduce gear strain as much as possible. Going 4.11 should help quite a bit until I can afford a set of PPGs.

Sounds like a case of poor driving. Mine has almost 100k on the clock with a stage 3 clutch and every bolt on including a bigger turbo and I've put well over 100 full out 8-10psi drag launches on it.
