Default Dunning Subaru in Ann Arbor Michigan

Hello everyone.

I ordered a BRZ three weeks ago and the wait is 16 to 26 weeks. I was very excited until i began reviewing the estimate. They are stating I have to pay 800 for a paint and upholstery protection plan that is allegidly applied at the dealer.

I firmly stated that i do not want this protection plan. They will not remove it. I contacted Subaru's customer service in regards to the matter. I also forwarded my emails with the sales person. Three days later i get an email back from Subaru stating that this is cannot be removed from the sales order.

I have talked to other BRZ owners from other regions and none of them heard of such a charge. The sales person said it is a mandatory service they provide for "limited production vehicles" and it is not negotiable. This is simply a SCAM!!!!

WHY IS SUBARU FORCING ME TO PAY FOR THIS PROTECTION PLAN THAT I DO NOT WANT. THIS CHARGE IS NOT MENTIONED AT ALL WHEN YOU BUILD ONE ON THEIR WEBSITE.

If i cannot get this off my purchase price, i will cancel my order and go to the next Subaru dealer down the road and hope for the best. If I have to, I just wasted 3 weeks of waiting.... THANKS SUBARU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In addition, i am a service engineer for Ford Motor Company. I am already commiting a sin buying this vehicle to begin with. My fellow peers at work are loving my current situation.

I am this close to saying F'it and get a Ford with my discount.

This has NOTHING to do with Subaru. This is an item provided by the dealer called "ADP" or Additional Dealer Profit. The dealer will pay something like $150 to have the car treated and charge you $800 i this case. On top of this, the protection will pay to remove stains or covered damage, BUT require you to pay a fee to reapply the protection after the stain repair. And guess what? This cost to reapply the protection package is more profit for the dealer.

Find another dealer or buy a Focus ST, or 5.0 Mustang

I went to Dunning Subaru today and refund my deposit. The salesman that help me with my refund said he has lost a lot of sales because they're forcing this charge. He doesn't agree with it either and he understands why I'm going to the other dealer.

so I went to Hodges Subaru in Ferndale Michigan. They gave me the vehicle for less of a base price without any forced charges. Plus they can get me one by the end of April
