I didn't post it because George Takei posted it and that means 2/3 of the Facebook using internets already saw it.

It's been long rumored that Disney would, at some point, talk George Lucas into creating a full fledged Star Wars theme park. Now, with Disney at the reigns of the franchise, this seems to be even more likely. Remember that amazing art print that Tom Hodges did for Celebration V titled The Star Wars Universe Dream Park? He might not have been too far off base.

SlashFilm.com has posted an interesting article about a new survey that select Annual Disneyland Pass holders are receiving that asks questions like How interested would you be in visiting a Star Wars themed land at the Disneyland Resort? and How familiar are you with the Star Wars universe? By "Star Wars universe", we mean people, places and stories in the Star Wars movies, books and games.

It sounds like Disney is certainly considering some big upgrades to the park. Click here to read through the full report which includes more questions from the survey and keep your fingers crossed!

And the referenced print from Celebration V:

I hope the ride operators are told to say "it's not my fault" when the Millennium Falcon ride breaks down.

The only negative I see is that you couldn't have stupid-awesome rollercoasters. You can't have rides at Star Wars Land that kids can't go on... so it'll be just like Disney. Oh well I don't care SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY.

... man, life is going to SUCK if my kids don't like Star Wars.

... wait wait WAIT.

And none of that "for kids only" bull****, either. No goddamn "junior" rollercoasters and kid-sized rides. I expect to be able to go on EVERY ride and experience EVERY aspect of the park, goddammit.

I'll fit into Stormtrooper Helmet Drum-Along in Ewok Village, and I'll take out any kid in my way.

My son would be SO psyched if they opened up a Star Wars addition to Disneyland.

I went on the Star Wars ride at Disneyland back when. The '80s I guess it was. The one that was based on a flight simulator motion platform. The last part, with the platform bouncing and weaving, you dive down towards the death star and then bank hard right down into the trench and rush along it as the turbo cannons shoot at you. It was pretty awesome, except the whole ride only lasted like two minutes.

Upgrade that ride with current technology and make it 10 minutes long, I'd pay to ride it.

Let's speculate who will come in greater numbers on park opening day:

Children vs Man Children

Jedi in Scotland may soon perform marriages

Quote:
If Scotland passes proposed legislation, it's possible that a Jedi officiant, complete with brown robe and lightsaber, could stand before two lovers and say, "Dearly beloved: We have come together in the presence of the Force to witness and bless the joining together of these two people in Jedi-blessed matrimony."

The Marriage and Civil Partnership Bill (PDF) backs several other updates to marriage law, including same-sex marriage. But the BBC reports that the allowance of a Jedi-managed wedding has incensed some religious conservatives in the region. The Free Church of Scotland spoke out against the bill, which opens the door for leaders of Jedism and other movements to officiate at weddings.

Jedism isn't a joke, and actually has a bit of a following around the world partially due to the immense popularity of the epic sci-fi saga and its never-ending lore. Several groups have shed the sabers and actually practice in a structured environment -- a good example can be seen in the Temple of the Jedi Order.

According to the 2011 U.K. census, 176,632 people named their religion as Jedi, while more than 14,000 people identified themselves as such in a 2001 Scottish census.

So, I've got Ewan McGregor coming around to my parents place for a BBQ next week.

He's here in Perth, West Oz shooting a film. Now, do I pretend that I liked the prequel trilogy?

Um, they recently did update that ride completely. It's a lot better now.

Nah, just start quoting the opening "Choose life" scene from Trainspotting.

How do you get to a point in life where you can claim, "Ewan McGregor is coming around to my parents place for a BBQ next week." ????

Ask him about the time he highsided a loaned Honda Blackbird because he was too busy pointing at beer cans in a store window instead of concentrating on riding. It's a cool story. Bro.

No, you open with "orndog would really appreciate if you'd sign this copy of (insert any movie he has been in) so I can send it to him."
Then you send it to me.
