Default You bought the car, now own the watch

Orient watches are considered to be relatively decent watches for the money. If you decided you need to have one (despite the horrible write-up), make sure you realize how big it is -- 48MM is a BEAST of a watch.

I'm not a watch guy and would never spend more than $150 on a time piece. I did some digging around when I finally did buy one, and settled on Orient. They are a subsidiary of Seiko and one of a few companies that actually make their own "movements" in-house.

I've been very happy with the purchase, they make a quality product at a reasonable price.

Funny how people assume I paid an arm and a leg for it. I got it off Amazon for around $100 shipped?

The BRZ watch is nice, but you are essentially paying a premium for the BRZ logo and "limited edition."

The BRZ watch is ultimate pudwhackery.

Leave that type of nonsense for the guys on ft86club

spend the 300 on the car.

To make the BRZ watch seem even less desirable, its quartz. The $120 watches pictured are mechanical watches. There is an AMAZING amount of craftsmanship and engineering that go into making a mechanical movement. And even more when you add the complications of date and day. The $300 BRZ watch is electronic (quartz). Of course, its got a chronograph (stop watch) so we can all time our drift runs. A mechanical watch with chronograph is several thousand bucks.

I have about 6 watches -- my favorite (and cheapest by far) is the Seiko 5. $57 shipped at Amazon. It's mechanical with day and date (probably same movement as the pictured Orients). And it comes with a display back so you can see all the interworkings.
