Evos have a more menacing presence.

I always loved evos and wanted one, but always felt like it just wasn't me.

Welcome and good luck shopping. I've always liked Evo's but have been partial to the Suby's. That boxer rumble just gets my blood pumping. Since you are looking for a "blobeye" STi, go for the 05. The improvements over the 04 are worth the small amount extra you might spend.

I'd probably have to agree with you. My 04 seems like it has toilet paper for sound deadening.

Thanks everyone! The Evo is all ways a blast to drive!lol

Is there a thread with the difference between the 04 and 05?

I was also wondering how the boxxer engine does with high miles? I was kind of figuring if i found a car that was well kept without a ton of mods it can last for ever. Am i wrong about this?

Welcome Eliminator. Clean Evo. I was going to get a 2011 Evo last year, but the ******* of a dealer didn't want to budge from 33k. Seeing how the 2011 models were most likely built in 2010 and released later that year, the price should have been lower. I was looking for 28k+taxes, etc. The car is still sitting on the lot, at the price I wanted now, lol. Anyway, enjoy shopping for your Sti.

The sound deadening is the more important difference?

I'm not saying that, it's just probably one of the differences I notice the most.

I preferred my STI over the Evo for a bunch of little reasons, but the Evo X fixed a lot of those issues. Old one just felt cheap to me. I'd love to get my hands on an Evo 3 though.
